To outsiders, pregnancy is a very long and troublesome process, which does not include the things that pregnant women need to pay attention to. Even a simple pregnancy check-up is a very tedious process. For some expectant mothers, they do not know which examinations are necessary. For example, four-dimensional examinations are not actually necessary in the late stages of delivery. Generally speaking, there are only three examinations that must be done during the entire pregnancy, including blood sugar monitoring, Down syndrome screening and B-ultrasound. Late four-dimensional scan is usually performed at 30-32 weeks of pregnancy, which is a supplement to mid-term four-dimensional scan (best performed at 24-26 weeks of pregnancy) for fetal anomaly screening. Late-stage four-dimensional scans can check fetal growth and development and whether the fetus has growth restriction. Some malformations that only appear in the late pregnancy can also be checked, such as hydrocephalus and cerebellar malformation. In addition, the late four-dimensional scan can also check the position of the fetus in the uterus, whether the amount of amniotic fluid is normal, the umbilical cord blood flow, and the condition of the placenta. These situations are comprehensive considerations of the growth and development of the fetus. However, most hospitals only perform four-dimensional ultrasound in the second trimester, and a conventional color ultrasound is sufficient in the third trimester. Blood sugar monitoring is usually done between 24 and 28 weeks. The main reason for this check is to avoid the risk of high blood sugar. Due to hormonal changes during pregnancy, pregnant women may be at risk of diabetes. High blood sugar during pregnancy may cause the fetus to be larger or even cause deformities. If it is discovered early, it can be easily controlled by controlling diet or insulin injections. Down syndrome screening is usually done between 15 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. The main reason for this test is to detect whether there are fetuses with congenital idiocy among pregnant women. Down syndrome screening is relatively simple and economical, so this test must be done. B-ultrasound, this examination is usually done around 15 to 20 weeks. The main purpose of this examination is to monitor the development and growth of the baby in the belly more intuitively. Generally speaking, this examination is an indispensable auxiliary examination in the meal. It can not only see the fetal head, heartbeat, torso, etc., but also observe whether the fetus is alive or not, or even multiple births, and can also identify whether there are any deformities. This examination is the most indispensable during the entire pregnancy. |
