There are many ways to treat vulvar leukoplakia in modern medicine, but is the chance of suffering from vulvar leukoplakia high?

Are there many people who suffer from vulvar leukoplakia?

There are many effective methods for treating vulvar leukoplakia in clinical practice. Experts recommend that patients choose a treatment that suits them according to their own condition. The itching of vulvar leukoplakia is particularly severe at night. The degree of itching is related to time, menstruation, climate, food, environment, and mood. The itching may be mild or severe and may occur intermittently. Vulvar leukoplakia is an extremely harmful female disease that not only affects the patient's normal life, but in severe cases may even cause cancer and directly threaten the patient's life and health.

What are the symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia?

1. Unbearable itching: The most obvious feeling patients experience after suffering from vulvar leukoplakia is unbearable itching. This itching usually occurs in paroxysmal attacks, especially at night, accompanied by burning, dryness and other discomforts, which seriously affect the patient's normal sleep and make it impossible to guarantee the quality of sleep.

2. Whitening: In addition to vulvar itching, patients may also experience dry skin, loss of elasticity, whitening, and even atrophy or ulceration. Some patients also experience severe pain and burning sensations, making it impossible for them to live and work normally. These are common symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia.

3. Rough skin: If the disease is not treated in time after the appearance of vulvar leukoplakia, the vulvar skin mucosa will turn white and light red, and the surface will become rough and uneven like tree bark. It will also become hard, cracked, ulcerated, and eroded, and the external manifestation will be difficulty urinating.

4. Thinning of mucous membrane: The phenomenon of thinning of mucous membrane does not occur in all patients. Only some patients will experience local thinning of skin and mucous membranes, accompanied by swelling and edema, atrophy or even disappearance of the labia majora and minora, and gradual narrowing of the vaginal opening, causing difficulties in sexual life or childbirth.

3 Where can I get treatment for vulvar leukoplakia?

(1) Eliminate the cause: Those with diabetes, trichomonas or candidal vaginitis should receive treatment, eat less spicy food, keep the vulva clean, avoid scrubbing with soap, scratching and using irritating drugs, and take multivitamins, sedatives and desensitizers.

(ii) Topical medication: for the purpose of relieving itching, reducing inflammation, moisturizing and improving local nutrition.

1. External washing medicine: Chinese medicine Sophora flavescens and Artemisia capillaris wash or other Chinese medicine decoction for fumigation and washing.

2. For atrophic type: Apply 1%~2% testosterone propionate cod liver oil ointment (100~200mg of testosterone propionate added to 10~20g of 20% cod liver oil ointment) externally, 3~4 times/day, for 2~3 months. It can make the skin thicker and softer and loosen adhesions.

3. For hyperplastic and mixed types, dexamethasone and hydrocortisone ointment can be used. For mixed types, testosterone propionate and cod liver oil ointment should also be applied externally.

(iii) Acupuncture and acupoint injection can be tried.

(iv) Laser treatment: Laser treatment of lichen sclerosus malnutrition has the effect of relieving itching, promoting wound healing and improving local blood circulation.

(V) Surgical treatment: For moderate to severe atypical hyperplasia, or ulcers and fissures that do not heal after non-surgical treatment, simple vulvectomy may be considered.

The same treatment plan is available in any regular hospital, so as long as the patient can detect the disease in time and choose a regular hospital, they can get accurate treatment. There is no need to worry about this.
