Is excessive vaginal discharge a sign of pregnancy?

The secretions produced by the human body every day reflect the health of the human body. For example, women's vaginal secretions and leucorrhea reflect the health of women's reproductive organs. Leucorrhea is a secretion from the vagina, cervix and other organs after women enter puberty. Under normal circumstances, the amount of leucorrhea secreted by women every month is about the same. If a woman's leucorrhea increases, it means that changes have occurred in her body. So, is excessive vaginal discharge a sign of pregnancy?

Excessive vaginal discharge may be a sign of pregnancy, but it may also be caused by other reasons.

Causes of excessive vaginal discharge

1. Sex during pregnancy

When a woman is pregnant, the secretion of sex hormones increases, which will also manifest as an increase in vaginal discharge. This is a normal phenomenon and there is no need to worry.

2. Pressure

The reason for this abnormal vaginal discharge is too much stress. Long-term excessive stress can affect the endocrine system, causing endocrine disorders and increased vaginal discharge.

3. Periodicity

This is a normal physiological condition. As a girl matures, 2 to 3 days after ovulation, her leucorrhea will gradually become thicker and turbid, and the amount will decrease.

4. Pathological

Pathological leucorrhea is caused by certain diseases. The following four diseases are likely to cause abnormal leucorrhea:

(1) Pelvic inflammatory disease

If you have a lot of vaginal discharge and it lasts for a long time, and you have a lot of clear vaginal discharge except for a few days when your period comes, and your underwear gets wet, etc., these situations may indicate that you have a gynecological disease. In addition, if it is accompanied by symptoms such as low back pain and lower abdominal pain, these are common symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease.

(2) Uterine fibroids

If the leucorrhea appears yellow or resembles fish washing water, and has a foul smell, then these abnormal leucorrhea may be caused by necrosis or degeneration of certain tissues. In addition to these symptoms, if the amount of vaginal discharge suddenly increases, or even requires the use of sanitary pads, it is recommended that you have a check-up for submucous uterine fibroids, uterine body cancer, cervical cancer, etc. as soon as possible.

5. Bloody leucorrhea

After entering old age, women experience increased leucorrhea and blood in their leucorrhea. In most cases, this is caused by senile vaginitis, cervical polyps, severe cervical erosion, cervical cancer, or uterine body cancer and submucosal uterine fibroids protruding from the external os of the cervix.
