Is the left breast nodule serious?

If breast nodules appear, the patient should not scare herself first. It is very important to keep a relaxed and happy mood. If a woman often has too much psychological pressure, it will be very detrimental to breast health and may even directly lead to worsening breast disease. In addition, she should develop good living habits, ensure adequate sleep, and pay attention to quitting smoking and drinking, etc. The following introduces the severity of the left breast nodule.

Is the left breast nodule serious?

Breast nodules are a symptom that is common in breast hyperplasia (which can form breast cysts) and breast tumor diseases, including benign breast tumors (such as breast fibroids, phyllodes tumors, etc.) and malignant breast tumors (breast cancer).

Breast hyperplasia: Breast nodules generally appear multiple, unilateral or multiple, often in the upper outer quadrant of the breast (that is, on the upper left side of the left breast and the upper right side of the right breast). The size and texture will change with the menstrual cycle: before menstruation, the nodules will increase in size and become harder, and after menstruation, the nodules will shrink and become softer. The shape is varied and the size feels irregular when touched. There is no complete boundary between it and the surrounding tissue sisters. It has no adhesion to the skin and deep tissues. It can move and is painful!

Breast tumor: In case of benign tumor, breast nodules may appear alone or in groups, and are more likely to occur in women of childbearing age. They can be clearly felt, are generally firm, have clear boundaries, and are movable.

In the case of malignant tumors, breast nodules are often solitary, hard in texture, with unclear boundaries and poor mobility. Passionate about middle-aged women!

Don’t panic if you have breast nodules!

Many "nodule panic patients" will become very worried once breast nodules are detected. If the examination reveals only breast hyperplasia nodules, there is no need to panic. Breast hyperplasia nodules are the most common breast disease, and the incidence rate ranks first among breast diseases. 70% of women have breast hyperplasia nodules to varying degrees, which are more common in women aged 25-45.

Patients aged 35-39 are in a "gray area"

If a single (single solid nodule or mass >1 cm) or multiple breast nodules are found, surgery or follow-up observation can be chosen based on the patient's wishes.

For female patients over 40 years old, if new nodules are found within one year, regardless of the size or whether there is one or more nodules, surgical removal is recommended and the nodules should be sent for pathological examination.

How to determine whether it is hyperplasia or a tumor?

Mammography: Round or irregular breast nodules can be seen on mammography films; breast ultrasound examination can clearly see smaller breast nodules and can also more completely characterize and locate them.

Another way is to do a puncture, use a needle to pierce the nodule, or several nodules, and extract a little nodule tissue for pathological testing to determine whether it is benign or malignant. In fact, for nodules smaller than one centimeter with regular shape and clear boundaries, you can choose to observe and check them more often.
