How many stitches does an episiotomy require and how to recover

Many female friends who give birth naturally have to undergo an episiotomy because the fetus's head is too large to be distinguished. To do this, the wound needs to be sutured. Many friends want to know how many stitches are needed in the suture room. Tonight, I will give you a detailed introduction on how many stitches are needed for an episiotomy.

1: Perineal massage. Foreign mothers usually start perineal massage and exercise every day at around 32 weeks of pregnancy to increase the flexibility and elasticity of muscle tissue, which is very worth learning from.

1. Trim your fingernails, wash your hands, choose a warm and comfortable place, stretch your legs and assume a semi-sitting delivery position.

2. Place a mirror in front of the perineum, facing the perineum. This way you can clearly see the condition of the muscle tissue around the perineum.

3. Choose some massage oil, such as pure rapeseed oil, or water-soluble lubricant, and use your fingers to evenly apply the massage oil around the perineum. Be careful not to use too much force to avoid bruising and stinging on the sensitive skin of the perineum.

4. Insert your thumb as deep as possible into your vagina and stretch your legs. Press the perineal tissue toward the rectum. Gently continue stretching the perineum until you feel a slight burning or tingling sensation.

5. Maintain this stretch until the stinging sensation subsides, then continue to gently massage the vagina back and forth. Be careful not to press hard on the urethra during massage, as this can cause infection and inflammation.

6. During the massage, hook your thumb in the vagina and slowly stretch the vaginal tissue forward. This is how the baby's head will come out during delivery. 7. Finally, gently massage the muscle tissue between your thumb and index finger back and forth for about 1 minute.

2. Exercise the sphincter. Tighten the muscles of the vagina and anus. Do it about 200 times a day, each time for 8-10 seconds. You can also try contracting your muscles and pausing for a moment while you urinate.

The above is about episiotomy suture needle. In life, friends who are preparing to give birth should pay attention to a full body check. After the episiotomy, the wound should be carefully recovered to prevent wound infection due to improper wound recovery.
