A little pelvic fluid

A little pelvic fluid

When doing B-ultrasound, some girls will be found to have a small amount of pelvic fluid. For such a small amount of fluid, it depends on whether it is physiological or pathological. If it is pathological, you cannot be careless and you must go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible, because some of them may look very mild but are actually very serious. Failure to intensify treatment will only lead to some complications and bad consequences.

Disease diagnosis

Pelvic effusion often occurs in lower parts of the pelvis, such as the rectouterine pouch. B-ultrasound is a commonly used and effective examination method in gynecology, which can accurately determine the amount of effusion.

The medical history, symptoms and physical signs can be combined in detail to determine whether it is normal or abnormal effusion. If abnormal fluid accumulation is confirmed, the cause of the accumulation must be determined, and eliminating the cause is the key.

Draining the accumulated fluid is a means of Western medicine examination or symptomatic treatment and should not be done frequently. Because simply draining the accumulated fluid will not only fail to cure pelvic effusion, but will also increase the amount of fluid accumulated.

complication

1. If pelvic effusion is not treated properly, it can be very harmful and can easily lead to pelvic adhesions, fallopian tube blockage, etc., leading to infertility. If you usually have lower abdominal pain, lumbosacral pain, increased vaginal discharge, lower abdominal tenderness and cord-like thickening during gynecological examination, etc., chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is considered and active treatment is needed to prevent worsening inflammation and increased fluid accumulation.

2. Most pelvic effusions are caused by inflammation, that is, by exudation from chronic pelvic inflammation. A few cases are caused by ectopic pregnancy rupture, corpus luteum rupture, pelvic abscess, chocolate cyst, and ovarian cancer. It is best to perform a posterior fornix puncture examination to identify the nature of the fluid caused by pelvic inflammation.

3. If there are chronic infection lesions, it may be an inflammation of the gynecological system such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, or it may be caused by tuberculosis or tumors. Pelvic inflammatory disease should be treated early, otherwise it will affect fertility.
