Is it normal to bleed after sleeping together?

Everyone knows that when a man and a woman have sex for the first time, the woman will bleed because of the rupture of the hymen. However, some women do not bleed obviously, and they feel special pain because of the rupture of the hymen. This phenomenon is relatively normal. However, if bleeding occurs after frequent sex, it is likely a disease. So is it normal to bleed after having sex?

Is bleeding after sex normal?

Couples who are immersed in love and preparing to have a baby, after having sex at the peak of ovulation, suddenly find that they are bleeding after having sex. Then they become anxious and panic, worrying about some part of the body having problems, some process going wrong, and whether it will affect their health and pregnancy. Are these worries and anxieties of couples preparing for pregnancy necessary? Let's take a look at whether bleeding after intercourse during ovulation is normal.

If a woman bleeds during sexual intercourse, the first thing to do is to find out the cause of the bleeding during sexual intercourse. If the bleeding during sexual intercourse is caused by local organic lesions of the female external genitalia, the bleeding can be cured by curing the local lesions. If the bleeding during sexual intercourse is caused by vulvar ulcers, vulvar eczema, or vulvar herpes, antibiotics should be used to eliminate the inflammation, and the eczema and herpes should be cured, and the bleeding during sexual intercourse will heal naturally. If the bleeding during sexual intercourse is caused by vaginal trichomoniasis, metronidazole should be used to treat the trichomoniasis first, and the bleeding during sexual intercourse will heal naturally after the trichomoniasis is cured.

If bleeding after intercourse occurs frequently, you should also be alert to cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, etc.; sexual intercourse during the middle of the menstrual period may cause a small amount of vaginal bleeding due to corpus luteum rupture; women with ectopic pregnancy may have ectopic rupture after intercourse, and some of them will also experience bleeding; menopausal women often have anovulatory uterine bleeding due to ovarian dysfunction, sometimes just after sexual intercourse; some women may also rupture and bleed when the clitoris is subjected to rough stimulation during intercourse.

In addition, it is not uncommon for patients with urinary tract stones or tuberculosis, bladder polyps and cancer to experience urinary tract bleeding after intercourse and mistake it for vaginal bleeding. The ovaries are called temporary warehouses for tumors. Tumors in other parts of the body, especially stomach cancer, liver cancer, intestinal cancer in the digestive tract, and lung cancer in the respiratory tract are very likely to metastasize to the ovaries. During sexual intercourse, the ovarian cancer tumor may be stimulated and rupture, and blood may flow out of the vagina.

What causes bleeding after sex?

Generally speaking, the main reasons for vaginal bleeding after intercourse are as follows:

1. External genital tract injury

Damage to the hymen. The most common is the rupture of the hymen during the first sexual intercourse, and this bleeding usually occurs during sexual intercourse. Sexual intercourse may be painful and accompanied by bleeding, but the amount of bleeding is usually not large. If the injury is not serious, the bleeding will stop soon.

Vaginal laceration. This often happens during or at the end of sexual intercourse. The specific manifestations are vaginal bleeding with heavy bleeding, which is difficult to stop on its own and lasts for a long time. Vaginal lacerations often occur during involuntary sexual intercourse or very rough sexual intercourse.

In addition, improper sexual posture and position can also lead to vaginal injury and bleeding. The amount of bleeding is related to the location and degree of injury.

2. Inflammation of the external genital tract

Pelvic inflammatory disease. Pelvic inflammation can cause pelvic congestion. If the endometrium is congested and edematous, sex may cause the congested endometrium to release hormones, but this opportunity is rare.

Cervicitis or cervical erosion. 90% of married women suffer from cervicitis. Cervicitis is divided into three types: mild, moderate and severe according to the degree of cervical erosion. For patients with moderate or severe cervical erosion, the rubbing of the cervix by the glans of the male's penis during sexual intercourse may cause injury and bleeding.

Cervical polyps. Chronic inflammation may cause cervical polyps due to long-term stimulation of the cervix. Single or multiple small pedunculated granulation tissues grow at the cervical opening, looking like bean buds, and the larger ones are as big as a finger.
