Is hysteroscopy dangerous?

Most women will feel pain during hysteroscopy, so many girls will choose to take anesthesia. Although they will not feel pain during the operation due to anesthesia, postoperative care is also very important, because many people are prone to infertility and menstrual disorders after hysteroscopy. So is hysteroscopy dangerous?

The indications for hysteroscopy are: menorrhagia, frequent menstruation, prolonged menstruation, irregular uterine bleeding, infertility and recurrent spontaneous abortion, abnormal or suspicious results of B-ultrasound, hysterosalpingography or curettage, adhesions in the uterine cavity or residual foreign bodies in the uterine cavity, and suspected endometrial cancer and its precancerous lesions. Suggestions: Since each person's physical condition is different, the treatment methods used are also different. Only through targeted examinations can the condition be determined. It is recommended that you go to a public reproductive specialist hospital and receive symptomatic treatment under the guidance of a doctor.

A hysteroscope is an optical instrument used for observation, diagnosis and treatment of the uterine cavity. It can be divided into diagnostic and surgical types, and also into soft and hard types. Under direct vision, local biopsy, cervical polypectomy, endometrial polypectomy, decomposition of cervical adhesions, removal of uterine septum, endometrial resection, removal and extraction of intrauterine contraceptive devices or other foreign bodies can be performed. Fallopian tube occlusion or fluid insufflation and artificial insemination can also be performed.

Complications of hysteroscopic surgery are relatively rare, but the consequences are quite serious. Cases like uterine perforation, due to the operation with electricity, often cause fatal damage to nearby organs. Complications such as fluid overload, hyponatremia, and venous air embolism simply do not occur in traditional surgery. That is to say, the occurrence mechanism of some complications is directly related to the performance of high-tech equipment.
