What is the reason for the leucorrhea to be transparent and sticky like snot?

All adult women are familiar with leucorrhea. They secrete some from their vagina every day, which is obviously normal. Normal leucorrhea is transparent, may appear stringy during ovulation, and has no odor. Of course, many women also have abnormal vaginal discharge, such as darker color or thicker discharge, which are all manifestations of disease. Let's find out the reasons why leucorrhea is thick.

Leucorrhea, or vaginal discharge, is a mixture of vaginal mucosal exudate, cervical glands and endometrial gland secretions, and contains vaginal epithelial exfoliated cells, white blood cells and some non-pathogenic bacteria. Under normal circumstances, the quality and quantity of vaginal discharge changes with the menstrual cycle. After the menstruation is over, the vaginal discharge is small in volume, white in color, and paste-like. In the middle of the menstrual cycle when the ovaries are about to ovulate, due to the vigorous secretion of the cervical glands, the leucorrhea increases and becomes transparent and slightly sticky like egg white. 2 to 3 days after ovulation, vaginal discharge becomes turbid, thick and less in quantity. Before and after menstruation, due to pelvic congestion, vaginal mucosal exudate increases and leucorrhea often increases.

If there are abnormal changes in the color, quality, and quantity of leucorrhea, it is called abnormal leucorrhea. Clinically, most women's abnormal leucorrhea is caused by not paying attention to personal hygiene. Normal people can just clean the vulva with clean water. If you do not have gynecological diseases and do not have special needs for sterilization and anti-inflammation, it is best not to use feminine wash excessively. It is reported that the risk of pelvic infection in women who use vaginal douches is 73% higher than that in women who do not. The main reason is that the douches used destroy the self-cleaning function of the vagina, allowing pathogens to enter.

The above is the normal leucorrhea for women. When there is no inflammatory stimulation, the leucorrhea is transparent and sticky. Once stimulated by inflammation, changes in characteristics, smell, etc. may occur. At this time, female friends need to pay attention and discover and treat it in time to avoid delaying the disease.
