Cystic fibroids of the breast

Cystic fibroids of the breast

Breast problems are an aspect that women should pay attention to, especially among middle-aged and elderly people. The probability of developing various diseases is relatively high, and timely examinations should be carried out. Breast cystic fibrosis is one of the more common diseases, but the cure rate of this disease is still very high. It is generally benign, but the occurrence of some lesions is not ruled out. As long as the examination and treatment are timely, the patient will recover well.

It is still unclear whether there is a direct relationship between breast hyperplasia and breast cancer. Some experts believe that as cystic breast hyperplasia develops, the proliferating tissue continues to necrotize, and it is difficult to say whether the body will develop cancer due to this chronic stimulation. However, according to current research, only about 3% to 5% of patients with hyperplasia develop breast cancer. From another perspective, because breast cancer is a very slowly developing cancer, it will take 33 months for it to develop even if no measures are taken. Therefore, even if there is breast cancer, there is a solution as long as it is treated actively, and the patient does not need to have too much mental burden.

Women with breast hyperplasia need to be alert if they have the following conditions at the same time: first, the breast hyperplasia has lasted for a long time; second, there are many and obvious nodules; third, their age is between 40 and 60 years old, which is the high-incidence period of cancer; and fourth, there is a family history. If these factors are present, women should pay special attention to changes in their bodies to avoid endangering their health.

Self-examination of breasts every month to prevent breast hyperplasia

For ordinary women, breast self-examination is very important. You should find a time once a month to lie down or sit down, put four fingers together, and stroke your breasts flatly to feel if there is any part that feels like a foreign body. If it does not feel flat, it may be the location of the nodule.

When examining, pay special attention to the outer and upper part of the breast, because this area has the most glands and 45% of breast hyperplasia occurs here. In addition to the upper outer area being more common, hyperplasia may also occur in the upper inner area, lower inner area, lower outer area and areola. Some women may experience breast swelling and slight pain as their menstrual cycle changes, which is a normal phenomenon.

There are nodules but they are not diffuse, and there are not many nodules and they are not hard. You can take Chinese patent medicine for treatment or take some Western medicine to regulate your endocrine system. If it is diffuse and severe hyperplasia, with frequent pain, no improvement with medication, and lasts for two or three years, surgery can be chosen to solve the problem. Doctors generally recommend surgery for women who have many nodules that feel large and widespread, who have lymphatic problems, who have bloody secretions, or who have a family history of breast cancer. At the same time, a pathological examination should be performed during the operation to rule out the risk of cancer. If you have a serious condition but do not want to undergo surgery, you need to go to the hospital for a check-up every 3 to 6 months to avoid worsening of the condition.
