How to lie down when the fetus is in an abnormal position

The news that pregnant mothers fear most is that the fetus is in an abnormal position, because it has a great impact on future delivery. There are many reasons for malposition of the fetus during pregnancy, such as excessive amniotic fluid in the mother's body and excessive range of fetal activity. Fortunately, malposition of the fetus can be corrected through the daily behavior of the pregnant woman. So, how should we lie down when the fetus is in an abnormal position?

1. Chest-knee position

The pregnant woman should lie prone with her head low and her hips high. She should turn her head to one side, bend her hands and place them flat on the ground on both sides of her chest, keep her chest close to the ground, and keep her legs perpendicular to the ground at 90 degrees. Her knees should be separated as wide as her shoulders. Make sure her hips are raised.

Note:

·You should urinate and loosen your belt before doing corrective exercises.

Apply 2 to 3 times a day, 10 to 15 minutes each time. One course of treatment is 5 to 7 days. Check after one week.

2. Moxibustion Acupoint Method

It can be combined with the chest-knee position method. The expectant mother should sit with her feet on a small stool, loosen her belt, and use the burning moxa roll to fumigate the Yin acupoint (the outer edge of the little toes on both sides). Once a day, 15-20 minutes each time, and check again after one week.

External fetal rotation

If the above two methods are ineffective, you can go to the hospital for external fetal rotation, but the success rate of this method is only 58%. Sometimes the baby will turn back after being corrected, and mothers of twins cannot do it.

The best delivery method for different abnormal fetal positions

1. Transverse fetal position: If the fetus is in a transverse position, it is best to perform a caesarean section as soon as possible.

2. Fetal breech presentation: For primiparas, caesarean section is usually performed in this case; while for multiparas whose pelvis is already relatively separated, vaginal delivery can be considered if the fetus is small.

3. Single breech presentation: Generally speaking, natural delivery can be completed with the help of doctors and nurses.

4. Buttocks first presentation, feet first presentation, knee first presentation: Cesarean section must be used to complete the delivery.
