Many people forget to take contraceptive measures without realizing it, so they take emergency contraceptives immediately after orgasm to achieve the purpose of contraception. So, is bleeding after taking contraceptive pills menstruation? What is the contraceptive effect of contraceptive pills and their duration?

Is bleeding after taking birth control pills my period?

Birth control pills are different from other emergency contraceptives. Bleeding after taking birth control pills is a common condition, which is often called withdrawal bleeding in clinical medicine. In fact, this kind of bleeding can generally not be considered as menarche.

There are generally several situations in which bleeding occurs after taking birth control pills:

Pregnant women taking contraceptive pills at different times of the menstrual cycle will have different effects on their menstrual period. If taken during the first half of the menstrual cycle, it may have a significant impact on women's menstrual period and may cause vaginal bleeding;

If taken within the first half of the menstrual cycle, it will have less impact on women's menstrual period. Instead of having bleeding similar to normal menstrual flow, you can treat it as a menstrual period and take basic contraceptive measures immediately after the bleeding stops. If the bleeding is very little, you don't need to do anything, but you still need to pay attention to contraceptive measures until the next menarche.

So what I want to remind everyone here is that emergency drugs cannot be taken as regular contraceptives at any time. It should be noted that contraceptives are only used occasionally, and there is a certain interval between taking the pills, generally not more than 2-3 times a year.

However, the actual effectiveness of emergency contraception is around 98%. In other words, there is still a possibility that 2% of people may become pregnant after taking the medicine. Therefore, if your period does not come due, you should still do a pregnancy test.
