Why do pregnant women sweat?

After becoming pregnant, women not only like to eat, but many of their living habits also change. The food that I used to love very much, I may want to vomit now when I see it. Not only that, as the fetus develops, many pregnant women sweat a lot. Why is this? In fact, this has a lot to do with the endocrine changes in women after they become pregnant. Pregnant mothers just need to pay attention to hydration on a daily basis.

Why do pregnant women always sweat?

1. Under normal circumstances, after pregnancy, the body undergoes physiological changes, the basal metabolic rate increases, and it is easy to sweat. However, you also need to be alert to the lack of trace elements and calcium. It is recommended to supplement calcium and vitamins and observe temporarily.

2. Because the body temperature of pregnant women is higher than that of ordinary people, and the basal body temperature is 0.3-0.5℃ higher than that of ordinary people, their heat resistance is worse than that of ordinary people. It is normal for pregnant women to sweat frequently, so don't worry.

3. Due to the growth and development needs of the fetus, the amount of food intake and excretion of pregnant mothers will increase. In addition, the secretion of progesterone will increase, which will cause the pregnant mother's weight and fat to increase, and the amount of fluid circulation to increase, thereby causing the body's basal body temperature to rise and sweat more. Therefore, it is easy to sweat.

4. If a pregnant woman has a hot constitution before pregnancy, she will be more prone to hotness after pregnancy. Therefore, some women are particularly prone to acne or urticaria after pregnancy, and their skin condition is worse than before pregnancy.

5. Due to the increase of estrogen in pregnant women during pregnancy, the concentration of cortisol-binding globulin in the blood increases, causing the adrenal cortex to be in a hyperactive state. In addition, the basal metabolic rate increases during pregnancy, and the function of the autonomic nervous system changes accordingly, causing vasoconstriction instability, increased skin blood flow, and increased sweating. Therefore, sweating a lot during pregnancy is a normal physiological phenomenon.

6. If a pregnant woman is calcium deficient, it will also cause her to sweat easily. Calcium deficiency will reduce blood calcium concentration, cause autonomic nervous system dysfunction, and then lead to excessive sweating. Therefore, pregnant mothers who sweat excessively should pay attention to whether they are calcium deficient and conduct trace element tests to confirm the diagnosis if necessary. You can bask in the sun under weak sunlight, or you can improve it by eating more calcium-rich foods, such as seaweed, seafood, animal liver, eggs, dried shrimps, etc. to supplement calcium.
