Caesarean section for obese pregnant women

Caesarean section for obese pregnant women

For obese pregnant women, even a caesarean section is relatively dangerous, and the chance of any complications is generally higher, which will cause considerable harm to the fetus in their belly. Therefore, during pregnancy, you must control your diet and weight, and try not to become obese. Once this happens, you can only have a caesarean section.

Pregnant women are reminded of the dangers of pregnancy for obese women. Generally speaking, obese pregnant women have a significantly higher chance of developing obstetric complications than ordinary pregnant women, such as gestational hypertension, which has clinical manifestations of high blood pressure, edema, and proteinuria. In severe cases, it can develop into eclampsia, causing serious harm to the pregnant woman and the fetus.

In addition, obese pregnant women may also suffer from complications such as diabetes, phlebitis and nephritis. Not only are there more complications during pregnancy, but there are also more cases of difficult labor and postpartum hemorrhage.

Because of the accumulation of body fat, the resistance of the birth canal increases, and the elasticity of tissues decreases during natural delivery, making uterine contractions weak, heavy bleeding, and neonatal asphyxia prone to occur.

When obese pregnant women choose cesarean section, due to the fat filling in the abdominal wall, the surgical field of view is often not fully exposed and the fetus is difficult to remove.

Exercising regularly in the early stages of pregnancy can enhance physical fitness. However, expectant mothers do not need to be overly sensitive or nervous about their weight. Pregnant friends are reminded that as long as the pregnant woman is at a normal weight, there is no need to increase the amount of three meals a day, as long as nutrition is ensured.

During pregnancy, the main way to control weight is to eat a balanced diet and exercise moderately. You cannot use raising children as an excuse to not control your diet. Otherwise, your enlarged stomach will not be able to adapt to the normal amount of food in a short period of time, and it will be more difficult to lose weight after giving birth.

Appropriate and moderate physical exercise during pregnancy will be beneficial to the entire pregnancy process and can reduce discomfort, especially in the later stages of pregnancy, when pregnant women gain a lot of weight, feel pressure in many parts of the body, and their ability to balance decreases, which limits their ability to perform some daily movements. Starting exercise during early pregnancy can effectively alleviate these conditions. Exercising regularly during early pregnancy can also strengthen your physical fitness, regulate your mental state, improve sleep quality, and prepare for the delivery process and rapid recovery after delivery.

1. Control the amount of food you eat. Mainly control the intake of foods with high sugar and fat content. Grains such as rice and pasta should not exceed the daily standard supply. Among animal foods, you can choose more chicken, fish, shrimp, eggs, and milk with relatively low fat content, and less pork, beef, and mutton with relatively high fat content. You can also add some beans appropriately. This can ensure the supply of protein while controlling the amount of fat. Eat less fried foods, nuts, and plant seeds, as these foods are also high in fat.
