Will I urinate frequently in the first month of pregnancy?

When a woman just becomes pregnant, her body will undergo major changes and she will experience early pregnancy reactions, the most typical of which are amenorrhea, headaches, vomiting, fatigue, etc., which are well known to everyone. However, some pregnant women may also experience symptoms similar to frequent urination. For this atypical symptom, it is difficult to determine whether it is a pregnancy reaction. So, will you have frequent urination in the first month of pregnancy? Let’s take a look below.

Frequent urination in the first month of pregnancy. This is mainly because the mother's metabolic products increase after pregnancy, and the baby's metabolic products also need to be excreted by the mother, which greatly increases the workload of the kidneys and increases urine volume. Second, in the early and late stages of pregnancy, the enlarged uterus or the descending fetal head compresses the bladder, reducing the bladder capacity, causing an increase in the frequency of urination and a feeling of not being able to finish urinating. This is called frequent urination.

One month of pregnancy reaction:

Pregnancy is a big event for the whole family. Whether it is a planned pregnancy or an unexpected pregnancy, it is not an easy thing. Women who are pregnant for the first time may not realize it, have no plans to have children, or have no physical reaction. It is easy to take the wrong medicine or neglect the details, which may affect the fetus and the mother.

Therefore, when we feel unwell, we should not force ourselves to do strenuous exercise to avoid miscarriage. And if it is not absolutely necessary, do not perform X-ray examinations at will to avoid adverse effects on the fetus.

Early pregnancy reactions vary from person to person. The earliest it will appear is 5 weeks after pregnancy, and many women actually have no early pregnancy symptoms at all. The most common reactions to early pregnancy are nausea, regurgitation, and loss of appetite. Eating habits may also change, and saliva secretion may increase.

Every woman experiences different symptoms after pregnancy. However, women during pregnancy often experience symptoms of frequent urination. If there is no pain or residual urine when urinating, it is not cystitis, but frequent urination caused by pregnancy.

How to deal with frequent urination during pregnancy

1. If the expectant mother experiences pain when urinating, or has unbearable urgency to urinate, she can check the urine routine to see if it is a urinary tract infection or other diseases.

2. The 4th to 12th week of pregnancy is a sensitive period for fetal teratogenesis. Medication should be used with caution under the guidance of a doctor, but it is not absolutely prohibited. You can first reduce the retention of bacteria in the urinary system by drinking water, urinating multiple times, flushing the bladder and urethra, and then use appropriate medication to relieve symptoms as soon as possible.

3. Eliminate worries and avoid spicy and stimulating foods as well as fatty and sweet foods. If you feel the urge to urinate, you should urinate immediately and never hold it in. Some people may have their bladder function affected by holding urine for too long, so that they are eventually unable to urinate on their own, causing urinary retention and needing to go to the hospital for catheterization.

4. Under the guidance of a doctor, take appropriate kidney-tonifying Chinese medicine such as Shouwu, Lycium barbarum, Bushen Yishou Capsules, Liuwei Dihuang Pills, etc. to maintain normal endocrine function.

5. For Chinese medicine treatment, choose 9 grams each of raw rehmannia, moutan bark, poria, cornus officinalis, anemarrhena asphodeloides, 6 grams each of oriental Chinese yam, phellodendron chinense, 9 grams each of ophiopogon japonicus and bamboo leaves. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day. Generally, 3 to 5 doses can cure the disease.
