Subcutaneous fat percentage for women

Subcutaneous fat percentage for women

Most people judge whether they are obese based on their weight, but this is actually not accurate. In real life, we often see two people with similar weights but very different appearances. Below, the editor has compiled a standard correspondence table of women's body fat percentage for your reference.

The standard for determining whether someone is obese should be the body fat percentage, that is, the percentage of body fat to total weight. The two parts that make up body fat percentage are body fat and visceral fat index. The former affects appearance, while the latter surrounds organs such as the liver and is a more dangerous type of fat. If the visceral fat index is too high, it can further increase your chances of getting cardiovascular disease.

Body fat is necessary for the body's composition, too much or too little will affect health. For men, a body fat rate of around 3-4% is essential fat, and for women, 10-12% body fat is essential fat. Anything below this standard will affect health. If the body fat of men is higher than 25% and that of women is higher than 35%, they are considered obese, which is not only unsightly but also affects their health.

Women's body fat characteristics

8%~10% of female athletes reach their peak state (can cause amenorrhea, menstrual disorders and breast reduction)

11%~13% back muscles are visible, and the external oblique muscles are more prominent (the peak state of female bodybuilders)

14%~16% back muscles are visible, and the abdominal muscle stratification is more obvious.

17%~19% Ideal type: Body fat is not loose in any part of the body, and the abdominal muscles are clearly layered.

20%~22% ideal type: fat in various parts of the body is not loose, abdominal muscles begin to appear, and stratification is not obvious.

23%~25% Ideal type: There is basically no loose body fat in any part of the body and the abdominal muscles are not visible.

26%~28% of the body fat is noticeably loose in the waist and abdomen, and the abdominal muscles are not obvious.

29%~31% have no visible abdominal muscles and the hip circumference is generally 81~85 cm.

32%~34% have no visible abdominal muscles and the hip circumference is generally 86~90 cm.

35%~37% of the abdominal muscles are not visible, and the hip circumference is generally 91~95 cm.

38%~40% of the abdominal muscles are not visible, and the hip circumference is generally 96~100 cm.

More than 41% have no visible abdominal muscles, and their hip circumference is generally more than 101 cm

Therefore, reducing body fat percentage is the most important thing, otherwise even if the waist muscles are strong, they may be wrapped by thick fat. Female friends should also know more about how to judge whether a woman is obese.

The accurate measurement of the thickness of human body fat mainly depends on the thickness of skin folds. Generally, the lower corner of the shoulder bone, 2cm to the left of the belly button, triceps and other positions are selected. Each point is measured 3 times and the average is taken! The thickness of skin folds mainly indicates the thickness of body fat. WHO strongly recommends using three measuring points: subscapular, triceps and navel. The boundaries for thin, middle-level and obese people are <10mm, 10-40mm and >40 for men; and <20mm, 20-50mm and >50mm for women. Of course, the above sentence does not specify in detail whether the standard you mentioned was formulated by WHO.
