Progesterone changes during pregnancy

Progesterone changes during pregnancy

During pregnancy, especially in the early stages of pregnancy, the progesterone level in the body of pregnant women is a very important reference value. If a pregnant woman has low progesterone, the growth and development of the fetus in the body will be seriously damaged. Therefore, many pregnant women who are diagnosed with low progesterone will be given some progesterone to supplement the progesterone in the uterus. So what changes will occur in progesterone during pregnancy?

The early stage of pregnancy is the early pregnancy period. The body's hormone levels will change to a certain extent, and the progesterone value will also change to a certain extent. The reference value of progesterone in early pregnancy is that the blood progesterone value in the early pregnancy period should be in the range of 38.0±13.0ng/ml. It is recommended to pay attention to a reasonable diet during pregnancy and provide sufficient supply of high-protein foods, such as meat, fish, eggs, milk, etc. And appropriate activities are beneficial to the growth of the fetus.

Reference value of progesterone in early pregnancy

1. The average progesterone level in normal pregnant women is 25 ng/ml (80.3 nmol/L). Many studies have shown that decreased progesterone levels in pregnant women can lead to threatened abortion and inevitable abortion (i.e. inevitable abortion, which usually develops from threatened abortion, but with more vaginal bleeding, more severe paroxysmal abdominal pain, or vaginal discharge), and exogenous progesterone supplementation is needed to maintain early pregnancy. Studies have found that a progesterone value ≥ 25ng/ml is normal, and a progesterone value between 15 and 25ng/ml indicates luteal insufficiency, which requires progesterone treatment with a higher success rate. If the progesterone value is ≤15ng/ml, treatment is of little significance and the pregnancy should be terminated as soon as possible.

2. In the early stages of pregnancy, the progesterone level should continue to rise. If you compare two progesterone test results and find that the progesterone level has dropped compared to the previous one, it is very likely that there is an ectopic pregnancy or a problem with the embryo development, and further examination is needed. It is medically recognized that patients with ectopic pregnancy have low blood progesterone levels, so the progesterone value can be used as one of the bases for early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy. If it is difficult to confirm based on hCG alone, the judgment can be assisted by observing the blood progesterone value. The β-hCG value of a normal intrauterine early pregnancy should increase significantly from the 9th to 11th day, and can double every day thereafter. However, the hCG secretion of an ectopic pregnancy is low, and the daily increase is smaller.

3. The progesterone level increases significantly during the 9th to 32nd week of pregnancy, reaching 10 to 100 times that of normal people. The level in twin pregnancies is higher than that in single pregnancies. If the progesterone level in early pregnancy is lower than normal and continues to decrease, miscarriage or embryonic arrest may occur, and the fetus will need to be preserved.

4. When you receive the progesterone data check sheet, you can compare it with the "normal values of progesterone in different periods". For example, the progesterone value on the test report is 88.21±23.7nmol/L. After comparison, it can be inferred that the expectant mother is about 8 weeks pregnant.

What to eat when progesterone is low

Progesterone is progesterone, a hormone secreted by the corpus luteum in the ovaries of women. It regulates women's endocrine system. When women have low progesterone levels, it often leads to miscarriage. Therefore, it is important to attract the attention of female friends.

Women with low progesterone should supplement with natural progesterone under the doctor's advice. Eating the following foods can also help regulate low progesterone:

1. It contains relatively rich soy isoflavones and natural vitamin E, which can help women's bodies produce more progesterone.

2. Eating some fresh fruits rich in pectin and dietary fiber will not cause large fluctuations in blood sugar. Because fruits also have the following advantages:

(1) The bright color and delicious taste can stimulate appetite.
