Will grade 1 cervical lesions turn into cervical cancer?

Many people get scared when they hear about cervical lesions, which leads to them trying all kinds of medical treatments and being deceived accidentally. In fact, cervical lesions are not a very serious disease, so don't be afraid. As long as you receive proper treatment, you will get better soon. Cervical lesions, especially primary cervical lesions, are easy to treat and will not turn into cervical cancer.

Causes

Cervical cancer is currently the only gynecological malignancy with a clear etiology and is associated with persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV virus is a double-stranded DNA virus with a spherical shell and a diameter of 55nm. It mainly infects the skin and mucous membranes, causing different lesions. More than 200 types of HPV viruses have been identified so far, and at least 30 of them are associated with genital mucosal infections.

Clinical manifestations

Patients with cervical precancerous lesions generally do not show obvious symptoms, or only have common symptoms of cervicitis, such as increased leucorrhea. There are also complaints of bloody leucorrhea or a small amount of vaginal bleeding after sexual contact.

Severe cervical intraepithelial neoplasia is a precancerous lesion. It is reversible, meaning that part of the lesion may disappear naturally, but it is also progressive, meaning that the lesion may develop and even become cancerous. Its reversibility and progression are related to the scope and extent of the lesion. Mild intraepithelial neoplasia is significantly more likely to disappear spontaneously than moderate or severe ones. Severe intraepithelial neoplasia is significantly more likely to develop into cancer than mild or moderate ones. Some scholars also believe that mild cervical intraepithelial neoplasia is a benign abnormal proliferation that can naturally return to normal.

prevention

1. Strengthen health education, improve prevention awareness, avoid premature sexual life, and eliminate chaotic sexual life.

2. Have regular gynecological examinations. Married women are advised to have a cervical cytology examination once a year. If any problems are found, further pathological examination should be performed.

3. For people with discovered cervical lesions and reproductive system infections, especially those infected with human papillomavirus (HPV), appropriate diagnosis and treatment measures should be actively taken to prevent the occurrence and development of cervical cancer.
