What are the causes of endocervical mucositis?

What are the causes of endocervical mucositis?

Cervical mucositis is a common gynecological disease. Studies have found that it is mainly caused by mechanical stimulation or injury, pathogen infection, chemical stimulation, vaginal foreign body infection, etc. Patients will have increased vaginal discharge and odor. If it is not effectively treated, the inflammation will continue to spread, causing pelvic discomfort or even prolapse, and finally there will be varying degrees of erosion.

1. Causes of cervical mucositis

1. Mechanical stimulation or injury

The occurrence of cervicitis is related to sexual life. Natural or artificial abortion, diagnostic curettage and childbirth can cause damage to the cervix and lead to inflammation. Adult women should pay attention to contraception, avoid or reduce artificial abortion surgery, pay attention to postpartum hygiene, and avoid postpartum infection.

2. Pathogen infection

Cervicitis occurs as a result of childbirth, miscarriage, or surgical injury. Cervicitis can be treated with some professional gynecological drugs such as Jiaoyan gel disinfectant. The main pathogens are: 1) Sexually transmitted disease pathogens: Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Mycoplasma chlamydia. 2) Endogenous pathogens: Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli and anaerobic bacteria, etc. 3) Others: Protozoa include Trichomonas and Ameba. In special cases, it is caused by chemicals and radiation.

3. Chemical stimulation

Flushing the vagina with potassium permanganate solution or inserting suppositories into the vagina can cause cervicitis.

4. Vaginal foreign body and infection

2. Manifestations of endocervical mucositis

1. Increased leucorrhea: Due to the different pathogens of cervical mucosal inflammation, the scope and degree of inflammation, the amount, nature, color and odor of leucorrhea are also different. It can be milky white mucus, sometimes light yellow pus, and when accompanied by polyp formation, it is easy to have bloody leucorrhea or bleeding after sexual intercourse.

2. Spread of inflammation: When mucosal inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligament to the pelvic cavity, there may be pain in the lumbar sacral region, pain in the pelvic cavity, etc. Thick and purulent leucorrhea is not conducive to the passage of sperm and can cause infertility. During the examination, it can be seen that the cervix has varying degrees of erosion.
