Does your belly swell during ovulation?

A woman's ovulation period and menstrual period correspond to each other, because a woman will only have her menstruation after she has experienced the ovulation period. But for most women, they only pay attention to their own essence and do not take good care of ovulation. However, women’s ovulation period is also an important period, and many women will experience physical discomfort during the ovulation process. So is it normal for some women to experience abdominal pain during ovulation?

1. Will your belly swell during ovulation?

There will be some lower abdominal pain during ovulation, and the leucorrhea will be thicker during ovulation, which is normal. During the ovulation period, there is more leucorrhea, which is relatively sticky, and there is lower abdominal pain. Sometimes there is some ovulation bleeding. This may be due to changes in hormones in the body, or it may be caused by a ruptured follicle.

This is a normal phenomenon, don't worry too much. If you are really worried, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital's gynecology clinic for a detailed examination and then receive treatment after the cause is determined.

2. What is ovulation abdominal pain?

Ovulation abdominal pain is a physiological abdominal pain, which is caused by the rupture of the ovarian follicle when the woman's ovaries ovulate and the stimulation of the peritoneum by the follicular fluid after ovulation. Therefore, the abdominal pain is relatively mild. Normally, the two ovaries in a woman's body ovulate in turn, once a month, so abdominal pain also occurs cyclically once a month, often with pain alternating between the left and right lower abdomen. Ovulation usually occurs between two menstrual periods, that is, on the 13th to 16th day of the menstrual cycle. But the length of each person's menstrual cycle varies, and it usually occurs 14 days before the next menstrual period.

3. What to do if you have ovulation pain

Although ovulation pain is a physiological reaction, generally speaking, this pain does not affect health, has no adverse consequences, and will not cause infertility. However, in a very small number of people, due to large rupture of the ovulatory follicles during ovulation, damage to small blood vessels causes ovarian rupture and intra-abdominal bleeding, resulting in gynecological emergencies and requiring treatment in the hospital. If the abdominal pain is severe, you can take painkillers temporarily. If it occurs regularly every month, you can take short-acting contraceptives for a period of time under the guidance of a doctor to improve the symptoms. Seek medical attention if necessary.
