Things to note when you just finished the ring

Things to note when you just finished the ring

Many couples do not like to wear condoms directly when having sex, because wearing condoms will reduce the feeling, so they will choose a long-term and effective contraceptive measure. Giving women an IUD is the most effective measure. In fact, giving women an IUD is equivalent to doing a small operation on women, because he wants to send the IUD into the woman's uterus. So what are the precautions after the IUD is inserted?

1. Take adequate rest

After the ring is placed, the cervix is relatively loose and the ring is easy to fall off, so you should rest for two days after the ring is placed. Do not do heavy physical labor or participate in high-intensity activities within a week.

2. Maintain hygiene

IUD insertion is a surgical procedure. In order to avoid infection, the vulva should be kept clean after the operation. Sexual intercourse and sitting baths should be avoided within two weeks to maintain vaginal hygiene and prevent cross infection.

3. Pay attention to observation

A few days after the IUD is placed, you may experience a small amount of vaginal bleeding, mild lower abdominal discomfort, and increased leucorrhea, which will generally disappear on their own and do not require any treatment. If the bleeding is heavy or lasts for more than a week, see a doctor immediately.

4. Prevent falling off

During the first three months after the placement of the IUD, especially for some women with loose cervix and heavy menstrual flow, the IUD may fall off along with the menstrual blood. Therefore, when going to the toilet during menstruation, you should pay special attention to whether the ring falls out with the menstrual blood. Once it happens, you should go to the hospital in time to replace it, and pay attention to replacing it with a suitable size to avoid it falling off again.

5. Regular follow-up

The follow-up time is usually in the first month after the IUD is placed, when you go to the hospital for a check-up after your menstrual period ends; then you will have a check-up at 3 months and one year; and then once a year thereafter.

During the process of wearing the IUD, if you find any abnormal phenomena such as excessive menstruation, prolonged menstruation, or severe lower back pain for a long time, you should consult a doctor and get timely treatment.

In short, although IUD insertion is a very good contraceptive measure, it should not be taken carelessly. Paying attention to the precautions after insertion will be safer.
