The fetus is always moving around the belly button

During pregnancy, as the fetus continues to grow, fetal movements will gradually appear. The characteristics of fetal movement are different in each period. Some pregnant women always feel that the fetus is moving around the belly button. They heard that the probability of such a fetus being a girl is very high, so they are very interested. I don’t know whether this statement is true or not. So, if the fetus keeps moving around the belly button, is it a girl? Let’s take a look below.

Is it a girl if the baby moves around the belly button?

About the position of fetal movement. There is a saying that baby boys mostly move left and right in the belly, that is, they move on the left and then on the right, while baby girls move around the belly button. For most pregnant women, fetal movement is an exciting experience, a proof that they can personally feel that life is growing in their belly. Fetal movement is one of the most objective signs of fetal life. It is the movement signal sent by the fetus to the mother, and it is also the fetus's initial return to the mother's love. Fetal movement often reflects the vital status of the fetus more sensitively. Pregnant women should understand what it feels like under normal circumstances so that they can detect abnormal and critical fetal movements in time.

However, the idea that fetal movement is related to gender has no scientific basis. Some people say that if the baby punches and kicks during fetal movement, it is a boy, and if it rolls around, it is a girl. I guess it's because everyone thinks boys are more active, but in fact this method of predicting whether the baby is a boy or a girl has no accuracy rate. These methods of determining the baby's gender may be fine for entertainment, but if you want to accurately predict whether the baby will be a boy or a girl, you can only rely on scientific methods, such as B-ultrasound. Of course, under the current national conditions in China, it is illegal for doctors to perform B-ultrasound on pregnant women to predict the gender of their babies.

How many fetal movements are normal?

The number, speed, strength, etc. of fetal movements can often predict the safety of the fetus in the uterus. Normal fetal movement indicates that the placenta is functioning well, that the oxygen supplied to the fetus is sufficient, that the fetus is developing healthily, and that the little life is living happily in the uterus. If the fetal movement is less than 20 times within 12 hours, or less than 3 times within 1 hour, it often means that the fetus may be suffering from hypoxia, and pregnant mothers should not take it lightly.

The fetal movement is generally 3 to 5 times per hour, and about 30 to 40 times in 12 hours. Under normal circumstances, the strength and frequency of fetal movements vary throughout the day and night. The number of movements is less in the morning, increases after 6 pm, and is most active between 8 and 11 pm. This means that the fetus has its own sleep pattern, which is called the fetal biological clock.

The strength and frequency of fetal movements vary greatly from person to person. Some have it more than 100 times in 12 hours, while others only 30 to 40 times. But as long as the fetal movement is regular and rhythmic, and the changing curve is not large, it means that the fetal development is normal.

It is recommended that pregnant mothers conduct regular fetal movement monitoring and recording from the 28th week of pregnancy until delivery. The best time plan is to count the fetal movement once at 8-9 am, 1-2 pm, and 8-9 pm every day. Count for one hour each time. Add up the three counts and multiply by 4, which is the number of fetal movements in 12 hours.
