The "director" that causes changes in a pregnant woman's appearance during pregnancy is the hormones in the body. In the early stages of pregnancy, hormones are mainly produced by the corpus luteum of the ovary. Later, when the demand for hormones increases, the placenta takes on the role of the "protagonist" in secreting hormones. At the same time, the workload of glands such as the thyroid, pancreas, and adrenal glands also increases.

Among the many hormones, the secretion of estrogen, progesterone, oxytocin and prolactin plays a decisive role in some major metabolic activities in the pregnancy process. They effectively regulate the mother's metabolic process during pregnancy, promote the uterine tissue in the stage of vigorous development, are responsible for mobilizing the mother's reserves to meet the needs of fetal growth and development, and promote breast development.

However, increased hormone secretion can lead to pigmentation on the skin surface, and the "culprit" is cortisol in the pregnant woman's body. The mechanism is that the secretory function of the adrenal glands is enhanced after pregnancy, which leads to an increase in cortisol, thus causing stretch marks on the skin surface and dark brown spots on the face.

How to prevent brown spots on thighs during pregnancy

1. Stay away from sweets and fried foods: During pregnancy, you should avoid consuming too much sweets and fried foods. You should consume a balanced diet to improve your skin texture and help your skin appear more elastic.

2. Control weight gain: The amount of weight gain during pregnancy should not exceed 2 kg per month and should be controlled between 11 and 14 kg throughout the pregnancy.

3. Use health care products with caution: There are currently some health care products, mainly for pregnant women, which can promote the growth of dermal fibers, increase skin elasticity, and prevent stretch marks, but there is no available method for stretch marks that have already formed. It is recommended not to take medicine casually, but ask a doctor for help. Otherwise, if you accidentally take hormone drugs, it will cause similar stretch marks.

If brown spots appear on the thighs during pregnancy, pregnant mothers should not panic too much, as it is mainly caused by hormonal changes in the body. It is recommended that pregnant mothers pay attention to their diet, eat less sweets and fried foods, and eat more fruits and vegetables to help protect their skin. In addition, pregnant mothers should not use some health products for skin care during pregnancy blindly, so as not to affect the health of the child.
