Will I still ovulate after I get pregnant?

There are many different changes in the bodies of pregnant women and non-pregnant women, and the biggest changes are in the reproductive system. For example, pregnant women will not have menstruation. However, pregnant women will have regular and quantitative vaginal discharge every month, and the vaginal discharge is mainly produced during ovulation, so many pregnant women have such a doubt, that is, will their ovaries still secrete eggs during pregnancy?

After pregnancy, ovulation will not occur. When the mature follicle develops to a certain stage, it protrudes obviously from the surface of the ovary. With the surge of follicular fluid and the increase of internal pressure, the protruding part of the ovarian tissue becomes thinner and thinner, and finally ruptures. The secondary oocyte and its surrounding zona pellucida and corona radiata are discharged from the ovary along with the follicular fluid. This process is called ovulation.

A woman's ovulation time is usually around the 14th day before her period. She will not have her period after pregnancy. During pregnancy, ovarian ovulation and the development of new follicles stop, so there will be no ovulation.

Ovulation is closely related to conception. Under normal circumstances, ovulation is a prerequisite for conception, and conception is the direct result of ovulation. Every month, an egg cell (sometimes more than one) matures in a woman's ovaries. When the egg grows to a certain size, it is released from the ovary into the fallopian tube and heads towards the uterus.

Women have two ovaries, located on both sides of the uterus in the pelvic cavity, but there is no regularity as to which ovary releases an egg each time. Moreover, the two ovaries do not necessarily take turns ovulating in each menstrual cycle.

If you want to conceive, you have to have sexual intercourse 2 days before ovulation or within 24 hours after ovulation, because sperm can survive for up to 3 days, and after the egg is released, if it is not fertilized successfully, it will not survive for more than 24 hours.

Having sex around the time of ovulation increases your chances of pregnancy. Couples with normal fertility have a 20% chance of conceiving each menstrual cycle. About 85% of women will become pregnant within one year if they have sexual intercourse without taking any contraceptive measures. Understanding hormones and body cycle changes can greatly increase your chances of conceiving.
