Pain on one side of the head during late pregnancy

Pain on one side of the head during late pregnancy

After pregnancy, many mothers will encounter various problems. Especially in the late stages of pregnancy, pregnant mothers are under great psychological pressure because there is a risk of going into labor at any time. So, what happens if you experience pain on one side of your head in late pregnancy? In fact, when this happens, pregnant mothers should consider whether it is a neuralgia caused by poor rest or sleep.

The main symptoms of neuralgic headaches are persistent dull pain, pressure, and heaviness in the head. Some patients complain of a feeling of "tightening" in the head. Therefore, it is important to understand the symptoms of neuralgic headaches.

Classification

Headache on both sides

Most patients have headaches on both sides, mostly on the temporal sides, occipital area, top of the head or the entire head. The nature of the headache is dull pain, distending pain, pressure, numbness and a band-like tight feeling. The intensity of the headache is mild to moderate and rarely causes bedriddenness or affects daily life.

Combined headache

There are also some patients who not only have the characteristics of tension headache, but also have the clinical manifestations of vascular headache, and complain of bilateral temporal pulsating headache. This clinical manifestation of both tension headache and vascular headache is called mixed headache. Patients with this type of headache often have symptoms such as dizziness, irritability, anxiety, palpitations, shortness of breath, fear, tinnitus, insomnia, back pain, and neck stiffness. Some patients have obvious tenderness points on both sides of the neck or temples.

Persistent headache

Some patients may have persistent headaches for years, and some patients' symptoms can even be traced back 10-20 years. The patient may have headaches all day long, with headaches lasting longer than pain-free time. Headaches are often aggravated by factors such as excitement, anger, insomnia, anxiety or depression.

Neuralgia is one of the common headache diseases. If you suffer from neuralgia, you should go to a regular hospital for treatment in time to avoid delaying the disease. At the same time, good care should be taken for neuralgic headaches. So, what are the care measures for neuralgia?

The time between eating a meal and a snack should not exceed five hours. Between each meal, a person's blood sugar will drop, causing blood vessels to dilate.

Reduce alcohol intake. Drinking alcohol can cause dehydration. Red wine and brandy, like cheese and chocolate, contain tyramine, which can cause headaches.

Keep track of what you eat. Chocolate, vinegar, frozen meats, and many other foods contain substances such as tyramine and nitrates. These chemicals can cause headaches in people who are prone to allergies. So if you have a headache, pay attention to what you eat.

Pay attention to the amount of coffee and tea you drink. Some people drink a lot of coffee every day due to work pressure. Too much or too little caffeine can cause headaches.

A person's body needs to drink at least ten glasses of water every day to achieve peak physical performance, and dehydration is a common cause of headaches.

Don't take too many painkillers. Excessive use of medication can cause "rebound" headaches. If you suspect this is the cause of your headaches, stop taking your painkillers for a while to see if the headaches stop.
