Female armpit pain without lump

Female armpit pain without lump

In clinical practice, many female patients experience armpit pain but no lumps after touching. This is generally considered to be a breast problem. The breast and the armpit of that side are very close. If there is a problem with the blood circulation, lymph, etc. of that breast, it may cause armpit pain. The best way is to go to the hospital for examination, and then you can get symptomatic treatment. This article introduces the issue of mastitis. Let’s take a look.

The breast on the same side is very close to the armpit on the same side. The blood supply, lymph flow, and nerve distribution of the breast are closely related to the armpit.

For example, after suffering from acute mastitis, the inflammation often spreads to the axillary lymph nodes on the same side through the mammary lymphatic vessels, causing the axillary lymph nodes to swell and become painful. Diseases such as breast hyperplasia cause paroxysmal breast pain and discomfort due to periodic changes in the glands such as congestion and edema.

Malignant tumors of the breast, such as breast cancer, often initially metastasize to the ipsilateral axillary lymph nodes through the lymphatic vessels. Sometimes, the primary breast tumor is very small, and when no lump can be felt on the breast, the lymph nodes in the armpit have already become swollen and painful. Therefore, after middle age, people should often touch their armpits. If there is pain or swollen lymph nodes, they should go to the hospital for further examination and treatment as soon as possible. This is also a simple way to self-check breast cancer.

There are three main treatments for acute mastitis, including physical therapy, antibiotics, and surgery:

1. Physical therapy. It is suitable for the early treatment of acute mastitis to promote the disappearance or limitation of inflammation. Cold compress therapy can lower local temperature, reduce capillary exudation, and slow down the conduction of peripheral nerve impulses. It has the effects of relieving pain, reducing swelling, inhibiting the spread of inflammation, and reducing milk secretion. Hot compress treatment: 3 days after the onset of acute mastitis, local lesions showed infiltration and exudation changes. At this time, hot compress can increase local tissue blood flow, promote leukocyte chemotaxis, improve the phagocytic function of leukocytes, promote the absorption, localization and liquefaction of inflammatory exudates, and has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

2. Antibiotic treatment . Penicillin is the first choice for the treatment of acute mastitis. The dosage can be determined according to the symptoms. 800,000 U are injected intramuscularly each time, 2-3 times/d. 8 million U can also be given by intravenous drip.

3. Surgical treatment : advanced laser perforation. After determining the location of the abscess, a hole is made at the most obvious part of the abscess and the pus is sucked out, and then antibiotics are pushed into the abscess cavity. Then the abscess is incised and drained to achieve the purpose of treating acute mastitis. This method is less invasive, easier for patients to accept, and also avoids the pain of changing dressings.

Mothers with mastitis should choose a treatment method that suits their actual situation according to their own situation. At the same time, they should choose to go to a regular hospital for treatment to ensure that the treatment of acute mastitis can achieve good results.
