After the IUD was inserted, the menstrual period was less and darker

IUD insertion mainly refers to the insertion of an intrauterine device (IUD) in women. Although this method of IUD insertion can achieve a good contraceptive effect, it will still have a certain impact on women's bodies. Because the IUD is mainly a contraceptive device placed inside the woman's uterus, many women experience abnormal physical conditions after the insertion. Women find that their menstrual flow is small and dark after having an IUD inserted. Is this normal?

Why is my menstrual period light and dark after IUD insertion?

It may be due to qi stagnation and blood stasis that the menstrual blood is dark, irregular, more or less, purple-red, clotted, and not smooth. Or it may be accompanied by lower abdominal pain that is resistant to pressure, or distension and pain in the chest, flanks, breasts, and lower abdomen, abdominal distension and discomfort, purple tongue or petechiae, thin white or thin yellow tongue coating, and stringy or astringent pulse. The treatment is suitable for promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, regulating qi and relieving pain.
