Normal menstruation should be about 14 days after the end of leucorrhea, and the menstrual cycle should be seven days. It is normal to have a period not exceeding seven days, but it is not normal to have a period too short. Menstruation will come more than 20 days after the end of menstruation, and it is also normal to have a period seven days in advance. If it starts to appear again after about ten days, it is considered abnormal bleeding, and there is no guarantee that it is related to menstruation. The cause needs to be found out. What are the reasons for irregular menstruation? (1) Anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding: also known as DUB. It often occurs during puberty and postmenopause, but can also occur during the reproductive years. During adolescence, because the feedback regulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis is not yet mature, the brain's positive feedback effect on estrogen is defective, FSH levels are low, and there is no LH peak, so ovulation cannot occur. During the menopause period, ovarian function declines, resulting in blocked follicle development and inability to ovulate. Various types of anovulation can cause the endometrium to be stimulated by estrogen alone without progesterone opposition, resulting in estrogen breakthrough bleeding and irregular menstruation. (2) Intrauterine device: During the first six months of IUD placement, you may experience irregular menstruation, which will gradually improve in the later stages. However, some people may experience irregular menstruation due to stimulation from foreign bodies after having an IUD placed, which may eventually require removal. (3) Improper use of sex hormones or long-term use of contraceptives: Estrogen and progesterone have both the function of stopping bleeding and the function of causing irregular vaginal bleeding. If used improperly or contraceptives are used for a long time, it is also one of the reasons for irregular menstruation. (4) External factors: such as mental stress, malnutrition, metabolic disorders, sudden changes in the environment, excessive weight loss, excessive exercise, etc. can cause abnormal regulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian function through the brain and central nervous system, leading to menstrual disorders and continuous bleeding. |
