What causes cervical polyps?

In life, many women suffer from cervicitis. Cervicitis is a relatively serious disease. This disease can make women feel pain in the cervix during sexual intercourse, and may also cause irregular menstruation during menstruation. Severe patients may even develop cervical polyps. Cervical polyps will have a certain impact on women's pregnancy and will also hinder the discharge of menstrual blood. So how are cervical polyps caused?

What causes cervical polyps?

Cervical polyps are a common clinical manifestation of chronic cervicitis in gynecology. The first type of cervical polyps are mostly attached to the external os of the cervix or in the cervical canal. They are generally small in size, with a diameter of less than 1 cm. They can be single or multiple, bright red, soft, easy to bleed, with a slender pedicle, and look like a flat round body formed by water droplets. The other type of cervical polyps occurs in the vaginal part of the cervix. This type of polyp is superficial, protrudes to the surface, has a wide base, is light red in color, and has a tough texture. So, what causes cervical polyps?

The main causes of cervical polyps include: first, it is caused by endocrine disorders, especially the high estrogen levels. Estrogen promotes the development of the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries themselves. At the same time, endometrial hyperplasia causes menstruation, and can also promote subcutaneous fat accumulation, sodium and water retention in the body, and calcium deposition in the bones. Estrogen, whether it is secreted too much or too little, is not good. Especially high estrogen levels can cause many cancers. The second is the inflammatory factor, which is generally believed to be caused by long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation. Long-term inflammatory stimulation promotes excessive proliferation of cervical mucosa. Coupled with the tendency of the uterus to expel foreign bodies, the proliferative mucosa gradually protrudes from the base to the external os of the cervix to form polyps. The third reason is infection by pathogens, which usually occurs due to childbirth, miscarriage, postpartum infection, surgical operation or mechanical stimulation, or sexual intercourse that damages the cervix, and the invasion of pathogens that causes infection, leading to cervical polyps.

How much does it cost to treat cervical polyps?

The cost of cervical polyp surgery mainly depends on the actual situation of the patient. The cost of cervical polyp surgery for each patient will also be different, because there will be some corresponding gynecological examinations before cervical polyp surgery, and the cost of these examinations will also vary from person to person. The general method of treating cervical polyps is polypectomy. Different hospitals have different charging standards, so the surgical fee for cervical polyps cannot be determined.

Generally speaking, women with cervical polyps will experience increased vaginal discharge, blood in the vaginal discharge, or bleeding during intercourse. If the above conditions are found, the patient should go to the hospital for treatment. I hope everyone will be vigilant and undergo timely examination and treatment. Experts remind patients that they should pay more attention to rest after cervical polyp surgery, try not to do strenuous exercise, avoid sexual intercourse, eat light food, do not eat spicy, greasy and other irritating foods, do not drink frozen drinks, eat more protein-containing foods, etc. In addition, they should also dry bedding and wash underwear frequently, and also supplement vitamin C intake to enhance their own immunity.
