What causes women's feet and eyes to swell?

In our lives, many people often have swollen feet, especially for some women, who often wear high heels, which generally deform the feet. When walking more, they will feel special pain in their feet. When soaking their feet at night, they will find that their feet are swollen. At this time, they will feel a sense of swelling. So what is the reason for swollen feet?

The legs and feet are hanging down for a long time, which causes mild congestion in the lower limbs. This is related to the swelling of the feet. Because of the effect of gravity, blood is easily accumulated in the lower limbs, and blood return is not smooth. Over time, blood circulation slows down and edema is induced.

In fact, for female patients who have lower limb edema without clear cause, the possibility of idiopathic edema should be considered. Patients have poor postural adaptability, that is, edema worsens after fatigue, long-term standing or sitting, and is relieved after bed rest.

This edema is related to the increased renin activity in the blood when standing upright, which causes an increase in aldosterone and increases the reabsorption of water by the kidneys. Therefore, edema may occur in the sagging parts of the body, such as the ankles. After resting at night, the edema may be reduced or disappear.

If necessary, examinations of the heart, liver, kidneys, etc. can be performed. If there is no obvious pathological or organic cause, functional edema can be considered.

treat:

1. Limit salt intake: no more than 5g of salt per day; reduce water intake appropriately;

2. Wear elastic socks and raise your lower limbs appropriately when resting at night;

3. Functional exercise: Do relaxing leg exercises every day and often do a simple foot exercise to eliminate tension and promote blood circulation. Avoid sitting and being inactive for long periods of time. If work requires it, you can move or pat your lower limbs from time to time to promote blood circulation. After long-term leg and foot activities, you should also rest and massage.

4. If the edema is more obvious, drug treatment can be given: 20 mg of spironolactone plus 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide (half a tablet) twice a day. Hydrochlorothiazide can be taken for 3 days and stopped for 3 days. The drug can be stopped after the edema subsides. It has no obvious side effects and is effective in treating edema.
