Pregnant woman lower body bone pain

Pregnant woman lower body bone pain

Pregnant women experience pain in the bones of their lower body, which belongs to the pubic bone, and should be considered as pubic symphysis separation pain. After pregnancy, some pregnant women with sensitive constitutions will experience obvious pain in this area. Generally speaking, this is a normal physiological phenomenon, so don't worry too much. After pregnancy, the ovaries secrete hormones, which make the cartilage and ligaments looser, which may cause such pain.

Pregnant woman lower body bone pain

① Generally, after 20 weeks of pregnancy (or 20 weeks +), sensitive pregnant mothers will have more obvious pain in the pubic symphysis. Moreover, the gap at the pubic symphysis continues to widen with the increase of gestational age, and pregnant mothers will feel more obvious pain when they move. This is a normal phenomenon and pregnant mothers don't need to worry.

②After pregnancy, the pregnant mother's ovaries will secrete a progesterone called relaxin. The secretion of this progesterone will increase with the increase of gestational weeks. Relaxin causes the fibrous cartilage and ligaments of the sacroiliac joints and pubic symphysis to become loose. The pubic gap is enlarged to accommodate the gradually growing fetus in the pregnant mother's uterus.

③In the late pregnancy, the gap at the pubic symphysis can reach 0.3~0.4cm. It is used to facilitate the birth of the fetus so that the fetal head can be delivered easily and smoothly. Pregnant women with milder symptoms will feel pain in the lower bones (pubic symphysis pain), which will not affect walking or sleeping, and the pain is not too severe. Severe cases can affect the pregnant mother's walking and sleeping. Severe pubic symphysis pain is called: pubic separation.

④ In addition, the mother may also suffer from pubic pain after the fetus enters the pelvis. This is because when the fetus enters the pelvis, the fetal head descends into the pelvic cavity, and the connection with the pubic symphysis does not float, which may cause pressure pain in the pubic area.

How to relieve pubic pain

1. Do not overwork: The pubic bone is painful in itself, and if you overwork, it will make the pregnant mother feel more painful. Because when the mother is tired, the fetus will put more pressure on the pubic symphysis.

2. Avoid walking or standing for a long time: Walking or standing for a long time will only increase the pain of pregnant mothers. As the fetus grows in late pregnancy, there is greater pressure on the pubic symphysis. Therefore, mothers with pubic pain should avoid standing or moving for long periods of time.

3. You can put a pillow between your legs when sleeping: you can adjust the specific height yourself. This can reduce pressure and relieve pain. If the pain is really severe, you can also apply a hot towel to relieve the pain. Pay attention to the temperature and avoid getting burned.
