The test result is weak positive and menstruation comes again

Many expectant mothers who are immersed in the joy of pregnancy will feel depressed if they encounter the problem of vaginal bleeding. Vaginal bleeding includes many factors, such as failure to become pregnant or miscarriage, as well as some normal physiological reactions of pregnancy, etc. Some people test weakly positive for pregnancy, but have menstruation. In this case, we need to consider where the blood comes from and whether it is menstruation.

Where does the blood come from?

Placenta: If the placenta falls off or separates from the endometrium, it will cause bleeding. If the placenta falls off, the fetus will not be able to absorb oxygen and nutrients, and you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Mucosa: Mucosa is the red erosion at the vagina or uterine opening. It is also possible that bleeding is caused by external stimulation such as sexual intercourse or gynecological examination.

Cervical canal: When the uterus contracts, secretions will flow out of the cervical canal, sometimes mixed with mucus and blood. The bleeding signs before delivery also come from here.

Polyps: Polyps are small benign bumps formed at the opening of the uterus. The blood that flows out of them sometimes mixes with the secretions from the cervical canal.

How much impact does bleeding have on the fetus?

When encountering this problem, pregnant mothers are usually very worried, not knowing whether they will have a miscarriage or give birth to an abnormal fetus. In fact, there are many reasons for vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy. Some of them can continue the pregnancy, while others are the result of "survival of the fittest" of the embryos and the pregnancy must be terminated. Let’s learn together!

The general distribution of vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy:

About 50% of pregnancy continues

Spontaneous abortion accounts for about 30%

Ectopic pregnancy about 10%

Other issues: about 10%

According to statistics, after vaginal bleeding occurs in early pregnancy, about half of the patients can continue to have a successful pregnancy, about another 30% of patients will experience spontaneous abortion, 10% of patients will have ectopic pregnancy, and a very small number of patients may have problems such as hydatidiform mole, cervical lesions, etc. Many studies have shown that if vaginal bleeding occurs in early pregnancy and the pregnancy continues successfully, the proportion of fetuses with congenital abnormalities does not increase.

What causes vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy?

ONE, related to the embryo itself:

Vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy is more serious if it is caused by the embryo itself. But it doesn’t mean that we have to worry about everything. However, any slight bleeding should be taken seriously.

Self-diagnosis points

There is a small amount of vaginal bleeding, which may be bright red, pink, or dark brown, depending on the amount of bleeding and how long it has accumulated in the vagina. Sometimes there is mild lower abdominal pain, a feeling of falling during fetal movement, and mild back pain and abdominal distension.

What causes it?

Nurturing a life is a process of survival of the fittest. If the embryo itself has defects, it will be eliminated after developing to a certain extent, and miscarriage usually occurs in about two months. Early miscarriage (before 16 weeks) is almost always caused by a defective fertilized egg, leading to abnormal fetal development, and is often unavoidable. When an embryo dies in the womb, it is often accompanied by vaginal bleeding.

How to deal with it?

When a miscarriage is confirmed through B-ultrasound, blood tests, etc., the doctor will take timely measures to clean up the residues in the uterus.
