Pain on the left side of the female back spine?

Back and spine pain in women is mostly caused by discomfort in local muscles and soft tissues. Common causes of this phenomenon are cold, fatigue, and injury. The longer the pain lasts, the longer it will take to recover. You must pay attention to keeping a good mood, adjusting your mentality, and doing appropriate outdoor sports to enhance your resistance. Your diet must be nutritionally balanced.

In daily life, we suffer various accidental injuries, such as sprains and sports injuries, most of which are soft tissue injuries. When we go to the hospital for treatment due to injuries, we often hear the doctor say that this is a soft tissue injury. What is soft tissue injury? It is the most common disease in orthopedics. The scope of soft tissue includes human skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscles, tendons, fascia, ligaments, joint capsules, periosteum, nerves, blood vessels, etc. If the above-mentioned tissues are damaged by strong impact, twisting, pulling, compression in daily life, or due to various reasons such as weak physique, excessive fatigue, etc., it is called soft tissue injury.

Soft tissue injuries are divided into sprains and contusions according to the cause of their occurrence; they can be divided into acute injuries and chronic injuries according to the time of injury. A sprain refers to a situation in which a human joint moves beyond its normal range under the action of strong force, causing loss of soft tissue near the joint. Contusion refers to the damage to the soft tissue of the injured part of the human body caused by external force. For example, soft tissue damage to the chest wall caused by the chest being squeezed by a heavy object is considered a contusion.

Common manifestations of soft tissue injuries

After soft tissue injury occurs, the main symptoms are pain, swelling and limited movement. Most early symptoms include severe pain, rapid local swelling, congestion and functional impairment within 2-3 days. 3-4 days after the mid-term injury, the blood stasis gradually dissipates, the swelling begins to subside, the ecchymosis turns to purple, the skin becomes warm, and the pain gradually decreases. In the late stage of severe tendon injury, after 2 weeks, most of the bruises and swellings will subside, the ecchymosis will turn into yellow-brown, the pain will not be obvious, and the function will be slightly impaired. These residual symptoms will disappear after 3-5 weeks, and the function can be restored. Therefore, patients with soft tissue injuries should not exercise or bear weight too soon after the pain is relieved, because the natural course of the disease has not yet ended.

Soft tissue injuries should also be treated differently

The most common soft tissue injuries include ankle sprains and knee collateral ligament injuries, which manifest as local swelling and pain and increased pain after walking. For sports injuries, the internationally recognized RICE treatment principle is: the first is rest (Rest), the second is ice (Ice), the third is compression and bandage (Compress), and the fourth is elevation (Elevation), which is commonly referred to as the Rice Principle in clinical practice. This principle can ensure that people can try to reduce and alleviate pain during the emergency period of sports injuries before the doctor arrives. With proper treatment, it can be relieved quickly. However, there is a type of soft tissue injury that should not be underestimated. It is manifested in severe injury, self-perception of ligament tear, deep location, rapid swelling and pain after injury, long course of disease, and destruction of joint stability. It mainly includes Achilles tendon tear, knee cruciate ligament tear, quadriceps tear, etc. Such patients need to seek medical attention in time. Those with mild injuries should rest and immobilize, while those with severe injuries require surgical treatment.
