What are the symptoms in the week before delivery?

The period before delivery is the most important for pregnant women. As the due date approaches, pregnant women may give birth at any time. Generally speaking, pregnant women should stay in the hospital to wait for delivery a few days near the due date. One week before delivery, pregnant women will feel great pressure in their abdomen, swelling in their legs and feet, and discomfort in the uterus area. So, what symptoms do pregnant women experience one week before giving birth?

1. What are the symptoms one week before delivery?

1. Water breaking. As the uterine contraction continues to increase, the intrauterine water pressure increases, the amniotic sac ruptures, and "cytoplasmic water" flows out, which is called rupture of membranes. Most women's membranes rupture only after labor begins, and only a few women's membranes rupture before labor begins, which is called "premature rupture of membranes." At this time, the baby should be immediately sent to the hospital for delivery in a supine position. Delivery usually occurs within 24 hours of rupture of membranes.

2. Labor pains. When the fetus descends into the pelvis and presses on the pubic bone, the pain will shift from the upper abdomen to the lower abdomen. This is the pain. The pain after entering the labor process is true labor pain. Labor pain will cause the cervix to gradually expand and thin. The pain intensity of true labor pain becomes stronger and stronger, and the pain lasts longer and longer. The time interval between each labor pain will become shorter and shorter, and will not be relieved by walking. When a new mother's contractions are so frequent that they occur every 3 to 5 minutes, or when a multipara has regular contractions, she should go to the hospital as soon as possible to give birth.

3. The feeling of urge to defecate. After pregnancy, the uterus gradually grows larger and presses forward on the bladder, and the capacity of the bladder becomes smaller and smaller. So when the urine accumulates to a certain level, you will feel the urge to urinate and go to the bathroom frequently, but it is only a trickle, not as surging as before.

4. Pregnant women feel relaxed in their abdomen. 1-2 weeks before delivery, primigravidas often feel their upper abdomen more comfortable, their breathing lighter, and their appetite increased because the fetus's head emerges first and descends into the pelvis, the fundus of the uterus lowers.

2. Taboos for pregnant women before delivery

One thing to avoid is fear. Pregnant women have varying degrees of fear of childbirth. This bad mentality will not only affect the pregnant woman's diet and sleep before delivery, but also hinder the body's stress response ability, making it impossible for the body to quickly enter the "optimal state" for delivery. In fact, under modern medical conditions, as long as prenatal examinations are carried out, the safety of childbirth is very high.

Second, avoid laziness. Some women worry about miscarriage in the early stages of pregnancy and premature birth in the late stages of pregnancy, and they dare not move throughout the pregnancy. Some pregnant women are unwilling to exercise more because they are lazy. In fact, women who have too little physical activity during pregnancy are more likely to experience difficult delivery. Therefore, pregnant women should not be too lazy or stay in bed for a long time in the late stages of pregnancy.

The third taboo is traveling far. Generally, it is not advisable to travel long distances after half a month before the expected date of delivery, especially by car or boat. Because various conditions are restricted during the journey, if a difficult labor occurs, it is very dangerous and may endanger the safety of mother and child.
