Lumbar pain after childbirth

Lumbar pain after childbirth

During the prenatal stage, the pregnant woman's belly gradually bulges, which will change the body's center of gravity and increase the lumbar curvature. As the body's burden increases and the dislocation, coupled with the changes in body hormones during pregnancy, will stimulate the nerves and cause lumbar spondylosis. Many pregnant women lack exercise, and the continuous negative pressure during normal delivery will further relax the mother's muscles and ligaments, which will also lead to lumbar pain after giving birth. How to treat lumbar pain after giving birth?

1. There are two aspects to consider for postpartum lumbar pain. One is lumbar disease, such as lumbar disc herniation, which is caused by herniated disc compressing the nerves. A lumbar CT scan can confirm the diagnosis. Second, it is considered to be caused by lumbar muscle strain, long-term load and uneven force. Hot compress and massage treatment can be used. It may also indicate that it is caused by lumbar disc relaxation. Lumbar disc relaxation during pregnancy is a normal physiological phenomenon, which will gradually recover after delivery. At present, if there are pain symptoms, local massage or combined with local infrared physical therapy for observation is recommended. Generally, it will recover slowly. If the symptoms worsen, orthopedic medical treatment and lumbar CT examination are required to rule out the possibility of other diseases.

2. To reduce the burden on the waist, it is recommended not to lift too heavy objects when standing. When changing posture, it is best to support with both hands to reduce the load on the waist. Try not to climb stairs. When squatting down to hold heavy objects, be especially careful not to stand up immediately to avoid injury. During pregnancy, control weight gain moderately to avoid being overweight. Pregnant women who need to stand or walk for a long time can use a belly support belt.

3. In addition, you can also alleviate low back pain by doing exercises that strengthen your back muscles. Step 1: Kneel on all fours in a crawling motion, straighten your back and tighten your buttocks muscles. Step 2: Push your pelvis toward your abdomen and arch your back; hold for a few seconds and then relax.

It is necessary to find a suitable solution. Mothers are very vulnerable after giving birth and need to protect themselves well to avoid leaving any roots of disease. Once lumbar pain occurs, you must know how to use personal methods to relieve the pain. You must also pay attention to care in daily life so as not to aggravate the condition.
