Will girls usually get pregnant the first time?

If a woman has sex with a man without taking any contraceptive measures, she may get pregnant. Generally speaking, women have a greater chance of getting pregnant after ovulation. If you have sex a few days before or after ovulation, sperm and perfect egg cells are likely to combine. Whether or not pregnancy will occur depends on both of them.

1. Female factors

The bilateral fallopian tubes have the function of transporting male sperm, taking in oocytes and combining sperm and eggs into the uterine cavity. There are many causes of tubal infertility, mainly including pelvic infection, endometriosis and congenital bilateral fallopian tube abnormalities. Among them, pelvic adhesion caused by pelvic infection is the main factor causing tubal infertility.

Congenital malformations of the uterus and cervical fibroids can cause infertility or miscarriage after pregnancy; poor metabolic response of the uterine wall, endometritis, etc. affect the flow of male sperm and can also lead to infertility. A narrow cervix or congenital abnormalities in cervical growth and development can affect the entry of male sperm into the uterine cavity. Cervical inflammation can change the amount and properties of cervical mucus, affecting sperm motility and the number of sperm entering the uterine cavity. In chronic cervicitis, the cervical mucus becomes thicker and contains a large number of white blood cells, which is not conducive to the attraction and penetration of male sperm and can affect pregnancy.

2. Male factors

Low fertility is closely related to abnormalities in sperm motility and sperm count. Many factors can affect the number, structure and function of male sperm, such as acute mumps with high complications of orchitis, sexual organ infection, congenital growth and development abnormalities, excessive exposure to chemicals, etc. Erectile dysfunction prevents male sperm from entering the female vagina. Genital erection is affected by its physiological and psychological disorders. Common physiological factors include congenital genital diseases, genital inflammation, etc.; psychological disorders generally include abnormal mental state and disharmonious parent-child relationship.

In addition, both parties lack the basic knowledge of sexual intercourse. It is difficult to get pregnant because the couple does not understand the anatomy and physiology of the urinary system and have improper sexual intercourse. Mutual pressure, financial burden, illness of relatives, depression, fatigue, etc. can all cause psychological barriers and infertility. In addition, couples’ excessive expectations of pregnancy and the anxiety in their sexual life can also lead to mental stress and cause infertility.

To achieve successful pregnancy, the following conditions must be met: the ovaries secrete normal eggs; the sperm are normal and contain a normal number of sperm; the egg and sperm can meet and fuse in the fallopian tubes to form a sperm-egg combination, which is successfully transported to the uterus; the uterine wall is ready for embryo implantation. Therefore, girls may not necessarily get pregnant the first time!
