What anti-inflammatory drugs should I take after getting an IUD?

In the life of both sexes, the issue of contraception is of great concern. IUD insertion is a very common method of contraception. However, women need to take oral anti-inflammatory drugs after the insertion, such as metronidazole or erythromycin, to prevent infection. Some irritation may occur after the insertion, which is normal. However, try not to have sex after the insertion, and have sex after three months. Having sex too early can easily cause infection.

What happens after a long time of wearing the ring?

1. Not long after the IUD is inserted, some mothers will experience mild back pain and soreness. This is because the mother is not used to the IUD and the uterus contracts. It will disappear naturally after a while. During this period, be careful not to do heavy work.

2. A small number of mothers may experience a small amount of vaginal bleeding, or a shortened menstrual cycle, heavier menstrual flow, or prolonged menstrual period, which is another side effect symptom of IUD insertion. This is because the endometrium is compressed by the ring and the cells undergo inflammatory infiltration. Over time, the symptoms will disappear as the uterus adapts.

3. Increased vaginal discharge is a common symptom after IUD insertion, because the uterus is stimulated and cervical secretions increase. However, this symptom will gradually decrease after 3 months of IUD placement.

Things to note after having an IUD inserted

1. It is best not to do heavy work within one or two days after the IUD is inserted to avoid the ring falling off and bleeding. You should take adequate rest.

2. Secondly, you should pay more attention to vaginal hygiene to avoid infection. After the IUD is placed, the vulva should be washed every day to keep it clean. Do not take a bath in a basin within 2 weeks and do not have sexual intercourse within 2 weeks to avoid infection.

3. In addition to the two points mentioned above, you should also pay attention to vaginal bleeding and the shedding of the ring. If you find that your vaginal bleeding is heavy, more than twice the normal menstrual blood volume or the bleeding lasts longer, or the changes in your menstrual cycle are obvious, you should go for a check-up in time. During the first 3 months, you should also pay attention to whether the ring falls off.

4. After having the IUD inserted, you should go to the hospital for regular check-ups. Early detection of abnormal conditions and early treatment. Generally, the first check-up after the placement of the ring is after the first menstruation, the second check-up is within 3-6 months after the placement of the ring, and the third check-up is 12 months after the placement of the ring, and then it is checked once a year.
