There are many things in the female body that are not found in the male body, so everyone should pay special attention and be careful. Girls all have progesterone. Progesterone is present before and after pregnancy, but the amount of progesterone is different. It is very important to know what the normal value of progesterone is for women, and we need to understand it from many aspects. What is the normal value of progesterone? The normal value for women during the follicular phase is 0.6-1.0nmol/L; the normal value during the ovulation phase is 2.40-9.40nmol/L; and the normal value after ovulation is 20.8-103.0nmol/L. The role of progesterone testing The clinical significance of progesterone test is to detect the presence of related ovarian tumors, corpus luteum cysts, hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma, etc. It usually increases significantly between 9 and 32 weeks of pregnancy, and can reach 10 to 100 times that of normal people. Checking progesterone can also determine whether there are ovulation disorders, luteal insufficiency, anovulatory menstruation, amenorrhea, hypopituitarism, etc. People with these diseases usually have lower progesterone levels. Experiments have shown that the serum progesterone value of ectopic pregnancy is significantly lower than that of threatened abortion. Therefore, it is believed that the determination of serum progesterone as an early diagnostic test for ectopic pregnancy and threatened abortion has the advantages of strong specificity, high sensitivity, rapidity and simplicity, especially when the diagnosis is difficult. It can further improve the early diagnosis rate of ectopic pregnancy. Progesterone test precautions During the entire menstrual cycle of a normal non-pregnant woman, the progesterone level is lowest before ovulation, begins to rise after ovulation, and reaches its highest level during the luteal phase. Before ovulation, the progesterone level in body fluids should be lower than 2 ng/ml. After ovulation, progesterone gradually increases, reaches a peak in the mid-luteal phase, and should reach more than 20 ng/ml. It then gradually decreases, reaching its lowest level before menstruation. If you become pregnant, the progesterone level will initially remain at the level of the luteal phase. After the placenta is formed, the hormones secreted by the placenta will increase the progesterone level in the pregnant woman's body to 100-200 ng/ml, which is dozens to hundreds of times that of a non-pregnant woman. |
