What are the granules on the labia?

In our lives, many women are prone to small bumps on their labia, and they are particularly prone to itching after having bumps on their labia. The more common labia bumps may be caused by vulvar folliculitis or genital warts. If it is vulvar folliculitis, you can take some anti-inflammatory drugs, but if it is genital warts, it is a more serious sexually transmitted disease. So what are the particles on the labia?

It does not rule out sexually transmitted diseases, such as condyloma acuminatum, or related factors such as ectopic sebaceous glands or eczema. Abnormal leucorrhea does not rule out gynecological diseases such as vaginitis, and leucorrhea needs to be tested. Since dermatological diseases are different from other diseases, they first need to be combined with naked eye observation by experienced professional doctors. Therefore, from a medical point of view, it is recommended to go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.

It may be pseudo-condyloma, which does not require treatment. Pseudo-condyloma is also called villous labia minora, which occurs on the inner mucosa of the labia minora and grows like two balls of fish eggs on the inner side of the labia minora. The protruding "villi" are equal in size, symmetrical on both sides, the same color as the surrounding mucosa, and soft in texture. The "villi" can be lifted up when touched.

It is more common in women aged 20-30 years old. The rash mainly occurs on the inner side of the labia minora on both sides and the vestibule of the vagina. The rash is multiple, collective, granular, white or light red, like fish eggs, with a smooth surface and a granular feel. Some are also filamentous, papillary or polypoid. Most patients do not feel uncomfortable, and some feel local itching. Pseudo-condyloma patients usually have an increase in leucorrhea, which is white or colorless and transparent, and generally has no obvious odor. In order to distinguish it from genital warts, 5% acetic acid can be applied to the rash site. If it does not turn white, it is pseudo-condyloma, otherwise, it is genital warts. In addition, papillomavirus antigen test can be performed, and pseudo-condyloma patients are all negative. The cause of pseudo-condyloma is still unclear. Some people believe that it is a physiological variation or related to the presence of Candida in the vulva and vagina. Others believe that pseudo-condyloma is caused by the proliferation of chronic diseases, which may be the result of long-term stimulation of vaginal secretions.

Pseudo-condyloma is a benign lesion that usually does not require special treatment. It is only treated when it is combined with Candida or Trichomonas infection.
