What causes anal swelling in women?

Anal soreness and swelling in women is a relatively common condition. The main cause of this condition is gynecological diseases and diseases in the anal area, which lead to a feeling of falling and pulling. When this situation occurs, people need to pay special attention. They need to understand the cause in detail and then take effective measures to treat it. Here we will introduce the reasons why women's anal swelling occurs.

Common symptoms are a feeling of prolapse and pulling caused by gynecological or anal diseases. There are many reasons for anal swelling, but some people just blindly think that it is caused by too hot a diet or constipation. In fact, the diseases hidden by anal swelling cannot be ignored. Many people experience anal discomfort but are too embarrassed to seek medical treatment and keep delaying treatment, which leads to worsening of the condition. The feeling of anal prolapse will seriously affect your daily mood. In addition, what is more serious is that it is a signal of anorectal disease. If the disease is underestimated, the consequences can be minor or serious.

Causes of anal swelling:

1. Malignant tumors of the anal canal and rectum: Anal swelling often occurs in the middle or late stages of the disease. Accompanied by frequent urge to defecate, tenesmus or bloody stools, weight loss, fatigue and listlessness. Digital examination may reveal a hard mass or tenderness in the anal canal or rectum. There may be pus and blood on the fingertip, and a foul odor. Tissue biopsy can help with diagnosis.

2. Internal rectal prolapse: Internal rectal prolapse refers to the situation in which the entire layer of the proximal rectal wall or just the mucosal layer is folded into the distal intestinal cavity or anal canal during defecation, does not extend beyond the outer edge of the anus, and persists after the feces are discharged. The most prominent symptoms of internal rectal prolapse are time-consuming and laborious defecation, anal distension, increased frequency of bowel movements, and incomplete emptying of the rectum. Other common symptoms include mucus and blood in the stool, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and abnormal urination.

3. Perianal abscess: The onset is acute and easy to misdiagnose. Because some abscesses are located deep, the lesions mostly occur in the area innervated by the autonomic nerves. The pain is often not obvious, and manifests as symptoms of heaviness, pain, or rectal irritation, which leads to a feeling of falling in the anus.

4. Inflammation of the rectum and anal sinus: Inflammation is one of the main causes of anal swelling. The course of the disease varies. Symptoms include frequent urge to defecate, increased heaviness and distension during defecation, or pain and distension radiating to the sacrum and coccyx causing pain, or thin stools, or stools with a small amount of mucus and blood. During rectal examination, if it is proctitis, the mucosa in the middle and lower rectum will be congested and edematous, or there will be a large amount of secretions attached, or there will be ulcers and bleeding; if it is anal sinusitis, the diseased anal sinus opening will be congested, or a small amount of purulent secretions will overflow, and there will be a sore and swollen feeling when pressing this area. If you experience anal swelling, don't be shy to go to the hospital for consultation and examination. Early treatment will provide you with peace of mind.
