Cervical polyps pregnancy

Cervical polyps pregnancy

When hyperplasia occurs inside a woman's uterus, cervical polyps can easily form. The symptoms of cervical polyps are not very obvious in the human body, which causes some women to not even notice their existence. Therefore, some women only find out that they have cervical polyps when they are examined after they become pregnant. So what kind of impact will cervical polyps during pregnancy have on the female body and the baby?

What are the hazards of cervical polyps in pregnant women

1. Affect the normal development of the fetus

The essence of cervical polyps is chronic cervical inflammation. After the inflammatory cells are infected, they reach the uterine cavity, which will affect the growth and development environment of the fetus and may even cause infection, leading to the occurrence of some congenital diseases, and even miscarriage if not handled with care.

2. Fetal infection during delivery

Inflammation will secrete a large amount of red and white blood cells and pathogenic bacteria into the vagina, destroying the healthy bacterial environment in the uterus and even causing vaginitis. The fetus is susceptible to infection by inflammatory cells during delivery.

3. Bleeding during childbirth

Pregnant women should have cervical polyps removed promptly if they are found during pregnancy, and should do so within one month before delivery. If they are removed too soon before delivery, it is very easy for the newly healed wound to bleed due to the dilation of the cervix during delivery. This can be very dangerous and can easily lead to a blood infection.

4. The mother’s delivery of the fetus is obstructed

Pregnant women with cervical polyps generally cannot give birth naturally because the polyps block the cervical opening, blocking the exit for fetal delivery. This will not only affect the fetal sliding out, but if there is any blockage, it will also cause fetal suffocation and cause great harm.

What to do if pregnant women have cervical polyps

Cervical polyps are growths that gradually protrude from the basal layer to the external opening of the cervix due to long-term stimulation of inflammation and local mucosal hyperplasia of the cervical canal. They are bright red in color, soft in texture, and easily bleed upon contact.

Having uterine polyps after pregnancy is quite special and requires the pregnant mother to treat it extremely carefully. If the polyps are not large, treatment is generally not required, but the method of delivery needs to be chosen under the guidance of a doctor. Alternatively, you can first use some medications to reduce inflammation and control the disease, and then undergo regular physical therapy for removal. However, it should be reminded that pregnant mothers should not use drugs on their own without authorization, but need to go to a regular hospital for scientific treatment under the guidance of experts.

How can women prevent cervical polyps?

Cervical polyps can block the cervical opening and cause infertility; cause bleeding during sexual intercourse and affect sexual life; and are prone to recurrence after treatment. A small number of cervical polyps can become malignant and can easily be confused with some cervical cancers. Therefore, cervical polyps should be taken seriously and preventive measures should be taken.

1. Take good care of your health during menstruation, after childbirth or after miscarriage; pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva, but do not use irritating detergents when cleaning the vulva.

2. Pay attention to sexual hygiene. Before sexual intercourse, both men and women should clean the vulva. Men with long foreskin should clean their penis thoroughly to prevent bacteria, mycoplasma, chlamydia, etc. from "quietly" invading.

3. Actively treat gynecological inflammations such as cervicitis and vaginitis. Regular gynecological examinations are also very important.
