Fallopian tube inflammation abdominal pain

Fallopian tube inflammation abdominal pain

The cause of female infertility is often due to problems with the female uterus or fallopian tubes. If the fallopian tube is inflamed, the sperm cannot combine with the egg better when it reaches the place where it arrives, and conception will not be easy. Therefore, the fallopian tubes must be healthy and unobstructed. The symptoms caused by inflammation of the fallopian tubes are relatively complex, and most of them involve abdominal pain. So what is the cause of abdominal pain caused by fallopian tube inflammation?

Why do women's fallopian tubes become inflamed?

1. Infection caused by unclean life: Inflammation of the sexual partner’s genitals and surrounding areas may be transmitted to women, which often leads to infection and fallopian tube inflammation.

2. Postoperative care: After childbirth, abortion or other gynecological surgery, if the woman is injured by equipment, causing the birth canal and placental detachment surface to be damaged or infected, it may cause salpingitis.

3. Inflammatory diseases of the reproductive organs: During sexual intercourse, bacteria may pass through the vagina through the cervix and eventually ascend to the pelvic cavity, causing infection of the fallopian tubes.

4. Irritation caused by pelvic effusion: The inflammatory effusion formed in the pelvic cavity may irritate the fallopian tubes and cause salpingitis.

5. Accidental invasion and infection by pathogens: Common pathogens that can cause salpingitis include: Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, etc. These bacteria can exist in food or enter through the vagina, eventually ascending to the fallopian tubes. If not discovered and treated in time, they can lead to salpingitis.

Symptoms of fallopian tube inflammation

1. Lower abdominal pain of varying degrees, mostly dull pain, lumbar pain, and a feeling of falling;

2. Abnormal menstruation, manifested by increased menstrual flow and irregular cycles.

3. Dysmenorrhea: Due to pelvic congestion, abdominal pain usually begins a week before menstruation and becomes more severe as the menstrual period approaches until the onset of menstruation.

4. Increased leucorrhea. Some patients may not have any conscious symptoms except infertility.

What are the dangers of fallopian tube inflammation?

1. Cause pain

Unlike dysmenorrhea, patients will also feel bloating and pain in the lower abdomen and unbearable back pain during non-menstrual periods.

2. Affecting sex life

This is also the most common symptom of salpingitis. Patients often experience worsening symptoms during menstruation or after fatigue. At the same time, there is an abnormal increase in vaginal discharge, abnormal increase in menstrual volume, lumbar pain, and some patients experience pain during intercourse, which seriously affects women's sexual life.

3. Ectopic pregnancy

If fallopian tube inflammation is too severe, it will cause complete blockage of the lumen and lead to infertility. In mild cases, pregnancy will be affected. In severe cases, ectopic pregnancy will occur because the fertilized egg cannot reach the uterine cavity, endangering the life and health of women.

4. Causes female infertility

Inflammation of the fallopian tubes is the most common cause of female infertility. Once the fallopian tube becomes inflamed, it will cause atresia of the fimbria or damage to the fallopian tube mucosa, which will eventually lead to fallopian tube occlusion and female infertility.
