What does the left anechoic zone mean?

The adnexal echo-free area is an indication of an ultrasonic examination. In this case, you should consult a doctor carefully to find out the reason. It may be caused by adnexitis. We know that adnexitis is a relatively common gynecological disease, which is quite harmful to women's health. It can easily lead to infertility and cause great harm to women's reproductive system.

What does the left anechoic zone mean?

That is to say, you may have inflammation in your left adnexal area, which may be adnexitis or something, or it may be follicles. You can observe for a period of time and check again after a week. If the condition still exists, consider adnexitis. If the echo-free area is not large, you can ignore it and it may heal on its own. If the area is larger, anti-inflammatory treatment should be used.

Treatment of adnexitis

1. Vaginal medication:

The effect obtained through direct treatment such as vaginal medication is also relatively good.

2. Antibiotic treatment:

Many patients already have obvious symptoms when they discover the disease, and antibiotics are needed for treatment. Antibiotics can kill any remaining pathogenic bacteria and prevent acute attacks. Commonly used drugs are still penicillin, gentamicin, metronidazole, etc., and the usage is the same as that for acute salpingo-oophoritis and pelvic peritonitis.

3. Physical therapy:

Physical therapy is a common method in clinical treatment of adnexitis. The benign stimulation of warmth can promote pelvic blood circulation, improve the nutritional status of local tissues, and facilitate the absorption and disappearance of inflammation. Commonly used physical therapies include short wave, ultrashort wave, infrared, audio, ion penetration, etc. However, do not use physical therapy if the body temperature exceeds 37.5℃ or if you have genital tuberculosis.

4. Surgical treatment:

Clinically, surgical treatment is often adopted for patients with difficult-to-cure adnexitis. Surgical treatment of adnexitis is based on the ineffectiveness of drug treatment. For example, if an abscess has formed and the body temperature continues to not drop after 48-72 hours of drug treatment, and the symptoms of poisoning are significantly aggravated or the mass shows signs of enlargement, drainage and resection should be performed immediately. In addition, if the patient suddenly experiences symptoms such as increased abdominal pain, high fever, chills, nausea and vomiting, or even toxic shock in severe cases, a laparotomy should be performed immediately and surgical treatment should be prepared, as this may be caused by a ruptured abscess.
