How many days should I monitor the follicles?

It is a very painful thing for women who want to have children but are infertile. There are many reasons for infertility, including abnormal follicular development and ovulation problems. If a woman has ovulation problems, she should take medication in time and then do follicle testing to observe the development of the follicles. The discharge of follicles needs to be monitored by B-ultrasound. How many days does it take to monitor the follicles? Let’s take a look at it next.

1. How many days is needed to monitor the follicles?

Clinically, B-ultrasound is used to monitor the discharge of follicles. Normally, the monitoring starts on the 8th day of menstruation, and is done every 2 days. During the monitoring process, if the follicle is found to have reached 17mm, B-ultrasound monitoring should be done every day until the diameter of the follicle increases to 20mm. B-ultrasound should be done twice a day until ovulation. No more B-ultrasound is needed until ovulation. Therefore, the cycle of follicle monitoring is relatively long. Women should be especially reminded that they must have B-ultrasound done by a fixed doctor, and the same doctor should have the same examination habits, so as to ensure the accuracy of the monitoring results. Different institutions or doctors use different equipment, and different doctors use the same equipment, and the results of measurements will be different. Therefore, the specific number of days to monitor the follicles varies from person to person, and generally requires at least one week.

2. Follicle detection

Infertile patients often need to know whether ovulation is normal. If ovulation is impaired, follicle testing is required to monitor follicle development during drug treatment to guide clinical medication, sexual life, artificial insemination and follicle puncture. At the beginning of each menstrual cycle, multiple follicles develop simultaneously, but generally only one or two follicles develop to maturity, called the primary follicles (dominant follicles), and the remaining follicles close one after another.

3. Unsuitable people

Patients who are allergic to clomiphene citrate, urinary gonadotropin, or gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists.
