There are several reasons why women have pubic pain

During pregnancy, the baby in the belly will gradually grow. At the same time, because the space in the pregnant woman's belly is small, as the baby grows, it will gradually squeeze other parts of the body. The pubic bone is a part that is often squeezed, so many pregnant women experience the physiological symptom of pubic pain. Pubic pain also has a great impact on people's daily life. So what are the causes of pubic pain?

1. What causes pubic pain in pregnant women?

1. Pubic pain and tenderness in the groin existed before pregnancy, which led to the same problems during pregnancy. In addition, hidden dangers such as bow legs and pelvic displacement can also cause pubic pain during pregnancy.

2. Traumatic factors leading to pelvic fracture or displacement can affect the pubic health of pregnant women. Pubic pain is a common symptom.

3. Pubic pain may also be caused by symphysis pubis separation. Due to abnormal pelvic alignment, it is often accompanied by miscarriage, malposition of the fetus, occiput posterior position, oblique head delivery or compound delivery.

4. Multiple births. If a pregnant woman is carrying twins or even multiple babies, the pubic bone will bear too much weight and cause pubic pain.

5. Have ever given birth to a baby that was overweight. The pubic bone is affected during the next pregnancy, causing secondary pubic pain.

Causes of symphysis separation

Starting from the early stages of pregnancy, different hormones are secreted in the body to enable the mother to adapt to the space required for the growing fetus, to ensure a smooth delivery, and even to undergo a series of changes such as postpartum breastfeeding. As the weeks of pregnancy increase, the size of the fetus and the amount of amniotic fluid gradually increase, which will expand the uterus. Therefore, the pelvic cavity also needs more space to accommodate the enlarged uterus during pregnancy. In order to adapt to the gradually growing uterus and allow the fetus to be delivered smoothly through the vagina, the mother's pubic symphysis, located just below the lower abdomen, will be affected by relaxin, causing its ligaments to become softer, allowing the pelvic cavity to expand smoothly. Symphysis pubis separation may cause pregnant women to experience pain in the crotch area, and the degree of pain varies from person to person.

3. Ways to relieve pubic pain

1. When you have pain in the pubic symphysis, you can use cold compress to reduce the inflammatory response and relieve the redness, swelling, heat and pain caused by the inflammation.

2. Massage: When the discomfort in the pubic symphysis extends to the waist, back, buttocks or legs, you can relieve the pain through soft massage. Avoid excessive force or stimulation of acupoints to avoid uterine contractions caused by pain or tension.

3. Abdominal support belt: A abdominal support belt can share the pressure on the pelvic cavity, reduce the pull of the pubic symphysis ligament, and relieve discomfort.

When sleeping on your side, you can put a pillow or a bolster between your legs to relieve pressure on your spine and pelvis.
