What is the difference between early and late fetal movement

For women who have never been pregnant, they will definitely feel very excited and worried about the coming fetal movement. In fact, fetal movement is a normal phenomenon in fetal development and it is also a situation that must occur. Generally speaking, fetal movement may occur earlier or later, but as long as it is within the normal range, there is no problem. What is the difference between early and late pregnancy advice? If the mother is more sensitive, she will feel the fetal movement earlier, while if the abdominal wall is thicker, she will feel the fetal movement later.

When does fetal movement begin?

For women who are pregnant for the first time, they are eager to know when the fetal movement will begin. Being able to accurately feel the life in the belly makes all pregnant women extremely satisfied. Do you know when fetal movement begins? After 4 months of pregnancy, that is, from the 5th month, the mother can clearly feel the fetal movement. The fetus stretches out its hands, kicks its legs, and hits the uterine wall in the uterus. This is fetal movement. The number, speed, strength, etc. of fetal movements indicate the safety of the fetus. Under normal circumstances, there are no less than 3-5 obvious fetal movements in 1 hour, and more than 30-40 obvious fetal movements in 12 hours.

Why can't expectant mothers feel fetal movement when the due time comes? Expectant mothers don't need to worry too much, it may be caused by the following reasons.

What does the early and late fetal movement relate to?

1. The thickness of the mother's abdominal wall. For expectant mothers with thick abdominal walls, the baby's movements may be slightly slower. For expectant mothers with thin abdominal walls, in the late stages of pregnancy, you can even see a small bulge outside the belly when the baby moves.

2. How much amniotic fluid? Amniotic fluid is the protector of the fetus, isolating the baby from many external influences. Similarly, it will also affect the expectant mother's feeling of the baby's fetal movement. Expectant mothers with excessive amniotic fluid will be less sensitive to the baby's movements.

3. Mother’s sensitivity. Everyone has different sensory sensitivities. Some expectant mothers are particularly sensitive to pain, so they can keenly feel even the slightest fetal movement.

The dangers of too little or too much fetal movement

Too little fetal movement is not good, and too frequent fetal movement is also not good. In the early stages of fetal hypoxia, fetal stress manifests itself as frequent fetal movements, followed by decreased fetal movements, and finally the disappearance of fetal movements and fetal death. If fetal movement occurs continuously, it is often a distress signal that the baby is struggling due to early hypoxia. If hypoxia is not corrected in time, the intensity of fetal movement will gradually weaken, the frequency will gradually decrease until it finally stops.

However, some anxious expectant mothers worry that there is something wrong with the fetus if they don't feel fetal movement within an hour, and they run to the hospital every few days. This is actually completely unnecessary. Although fetal movement is a sensitive indicator of fetal vitality, it is also affected by external factors. If the expectant mother works hard for a long time, has poor sleep, is hungry or has mood swings, it may change the pattern of the baby's fetal movement.

Pregnant women should not panic if they find abnormal fetal movements. First, lie on your left side and relax. After proper rest, repeat the counting. If the result is normal, you can observe it temporarily, but still pay close attention to the fetal movement. If the result is still abnormal after repeated counting, you must go to the hospital immediately.

After the fetal movement is felt, the expectant mother must also learn to count the fetal movements.
