Why do middle-aged women gain weight?

There are always people who have been together for twenty years, but still lose to a naive or seductive face. A woman's midlife crisis starts with gaining weight. Forty years old seems to be a critical point. For most women, at this age, no matter how they dress up and take care of themselves, the traces of time will inevitably show up on their faces and bodies bit by bit. So many people have questions, why do middle-aged women gain weight?

You may be able to cover it up with makeup on your face, but the shape of your body is unavoidable. It seems that there is such a curse in the dark, destined that a 40-year-old woman should withdraw from the spotlight of the stage and become a silent spectator, watching young girls show their charm wantonly.

Why? Why should women over 40 suffer from obesity?

First, energy consumption is reduced. After women reach middle age, their muscle content gradually decreases, their basal metabolic rate lowers, and their calorie consumption decreases. If they do not reduce their food intake or increase physical activity accordingly, they will easily gain weight due to excess calories.

Second, hormone levels. Due to ovarian dysfunction, estrogen secretion decreases. Estrogen deficiency will not only promote the accumulation of central abdominal fat, but may also cause abnormal sugar metabolism, increased appetite, eating more and gaining weight, and lead to osteoporosis, resulting in inconvenience in movement, reduced exercise, and fat accumulation.

Third, work, rest and diet. When people reach middle age, they have a lot to worry about. Therefore, it is inevitable that some negative emotions such as anxiety and irritability will arise. On the other hand, many middle-aged women are more compromising in diet. Irregular and unhealthy diet is also one of the important reasons why middle-aged women are prone to weight gain.

So, how can you control your weight, maintain a perfect figure after the age of 40, and become an "ageless" woman?

When it comes down to it, it’s still the same old three things: diet, sleep and exercise.

Choose a healthy diet, reduce calorie intake, increase protein intake, increase dietary fiber intake (to promote bowel movements and avoid the accumulation of harmful substances in the body), and choose some antioxidant foods.

Get enough sleep, maintain a regular schedule, adjust your biological clock, and avoid irregular life that affects your physical condition.

Moderate exercise is a necessary means to maintain physical vitality, and it can also consume some calories.

If you do the above three things, middle-aged obesity may not be your fate!
