Why does a 50-year-old woman have continuous menstruation?

When a woman reaches the age of fifty, she has basically entered the aging stage. At this time, not only do the body's organs begin to age, but even menstruation will be affected. However, women in their fifties have basically not yet reached menopause, but of course early menopause is not ruled out. In life, some fifty-year-old women have menstruation that is not easy to stop and lasts for a very long time. So why do 50-year-old women have continuous menstruation?

1. Irregular uterine bleeding. Menopausal women often experience early or late menstruation, with no regularity at all.

2. Frequent menstruation. The menstrual cycle is shortened, generally less than 21 days, and the amount of bleeding and number of bleeding days are normal.

3. Excessive menstrual flow. The menstrual cycle is normal, but the amount of bleeding each time is excessive, reaching hundreds of milliliters.

4. The menstrual period is continuous. Some women may have normal menstrual cycles, but they may have a small amount of dark bleeding for several days before their period. The bleeding may continue for more than ten days before and after their period.

5. Ovulation bleeding. About 10 days after the menstruation ends, a small amount of bleeding begins to flow out of the vagina, sometimes stopping in a day or two. This is called ovulation bleeding.

The harm of continuous menstrual bleeding in women:

There are many reasons why women's menstruation continues and menstrual bleeding continues. The most common reasons are some gynecological diseases, such as uterine fibroids, endometritis, functional uterine bleeding, etc.

In addition, some systemic diseases can cause continuous bleeding, such as thrombocytopenia, hemophilia and other blood diseases, cirrhosis and so on.

If menstrual bleeding is too heavy and lasts too long without timely treatment, anemia may occur due to long-term and massive blood loss; the chance of infection also increases. At the same time, it may also delay the early diagnosis of some diseases.
