Can I eat ice cream when I am four months pregnant?

Can I eat ice cream when I am four months pregnant?

In the summer, many people like to eat ice cream because of the hot weather. Some people eat several ice creams a day. In fact, eating too much ice cream a day is not good for the body, because the ice cream contains too much cold air. Too much cold air seeping into the body will cause coldness, especially for pregnant women, people with special physical conditions. So, can you eat ice cream when you are four months pregnant?

1. It’s OK to eat less

You can eat ice cream when you are between four and five months pregnant, but it is not recommended to eat too much. Eating too much ice cream is not good for you. Because fingers are relatively cold, especially in autumn or winter, they are even colder, so it is not recommended to eat ice cream. Eating too much ice cream can easily catch a cold, and it can also cause the baby to swell in the stomach.

Therefore, it is recommended that you drink more hot things and try to stay away from ice cream and the like. However, you can try to eat one a day and not too much, because if you eat too much, it will easily cause coldness in the body.

It’s okay, you can eat some ice cream. Ice cream is much better than popsicle. Some women like to drink cold drinks after pregnancy due to internal heat, which is not good for their health.

2. Reasons to eat less ice cream during pregnancy

During pregnancy, the gastrointestinal tract of pregnant women is extremely sensitive to cold and hot stimulation. Eating more cold drinks can cause sudden contraction of gastrointestinal blood vessels, reduced gastric juice secretion, and decreased digestive function, thereby causing loss of appetite, indigestion, diarrhea, and even stomach cramps and severe abdominal pain. The respiratory mucosa of pregnant women, such as the nose, pharynx, and trachea, are usually congested and edematous. If they drink a lot of cold drinks, the congested blood vessels will suddenly contract and blood flow will decrease, which can lead to a decrease in local resistance, allowing bacteria and viruses lurking in the throat, trachea, nasal cavity, and oral cavity to take advantage of the opportunity to enter, causing sore throat, cough, headache, etc. In severe cases, it can also cause upper respiratory tract infection or lead to tonsillitis.

The fetus will also be affected to a certain extent. Some people have found that the fetus in the womb is also very sensitive to cold stimulation. When pregnant women drink cold water or eat cold drinks, the fetus will become restless in the uterus and fetal movements will become frequent. Therefore, pregnant women must be moderate in eating cold drinks and must not affect their own health and cause discomfort to the fetus due to excessive cold food.

3. Foods to cool down the summer heat instead of ice cream

The desire to eat ice cream is mostly due to the heat, so you can eat the following heat-relief foods. Cherries are rich in iron, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, vitamins B, C, calcium, phosphorus and other mineral elements. The vitamin A content is 4-5 times higher than that of apples. Eating dragon fruit can protect the skin, the stomach and intestines, relieve constipation, and at the same time, it has a preventive effect on pregnancy-induced hypertension. Eating more oranges can not only relieve constipation, morning sickness, treat colds, and prevent pregnancy-induced hypertension, but also benefit the intellectual development of the fetus.
