Some women have a lot of leucorrhea, but it has no odor. This kind of leucorrhea without odor can be considered to be due to physiological factors. For example, insufficient qi and blood in the body or weak spleen and stomach will lead to abnormal amount of leucorrhea, but leucorrhea will not produce odor. Only leucorrhea after bacterial infection will have a different smell. Pathogenesis Spleen deficiency: Spleen deficiency or food damages the spleen, or phlegm and dampness block the spleen. Spleen deficiency produces dampness, and the belt meridian fails to function, resulting in dampness and turbidity flowing downward, causing abnormal leucorrhea. Kidney deficiency People with congenital kidney deficiency, or those who have frequent sexual intercourse or give birth to multiple children will damage the kidneys. Kidney deficiency will cause the belt meridian to be weak, resulting in white discharge. Diagnostic points 1. The diagnosis is based on the fact that the vaginal discharge is white, like mucus or saliva, and has no fishy smell. No pathogenic bacteria were found in the leucorrhea test. 2. Differentiate from the okara-like white discharge of fungal vaginitis. Syndrome differentiation Spleen deficiency The discharge is mostly white, thin and not smelly, the face is pale, there is fatigue, tiredness, poor appetite and constipation, or the body is obese. The tongue coating is thin, the tongue is pale and plump, and the pulse is thin and fine. Kidney deficiency The discharge is mostly white and clear like water, and the patient suffers from sore waist and weak knees, dizziness, fatigue, cold limbs, loose stools and frequent urination. The tongue coating is thin and the pulse is deep and fine. Physiological increase in leucorrhea Increased vaginal discharge does not necessarily mean a disease. How can we distinguish whether the increase in vaginal discharge is physiological or pathological? Normal physiological increase in vaginal discharge can occur in the following four situations; Physiological vaginal discharge ① During ovulation or pregnancy, the secretion of cervical glands may increase due to increased estrogen levels. ② Before and after menstruation, vaginal and uterine secretions increase due to pelvic congestion.③ During intercourse, sexual excitement causes the Bartholin's glands to secrete a clear fluid to lubricate the vaginal opening, allowing for sexual intercourse. ④ Most of the semen ejaculated into the vagina during sexual intercourse flows out of the body and is mistakenly regarded as increased leucorrhea. |
